If you only have one day to visit an amusement park in Orlando---
Islands of Adventure has it all!

We chose to do US/IOA and Sea World instead of WDW this time, but rounded it out with a Disney Cruise. I just had to post how much we enjoyed IOA! The shows, the themes, the decor, the detail! GREAT!
It is like a combination of all the best things from other parks with 3 super coasters tossed in!
And MYTHOS! WOW! Great food! My DH is a food snob and was VERY impressed. In fact, we were disappointed that we chose to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe at City Walk the next day and spent the same $$! Shoulda gone back to MYTHOS!

Also, I will say that Universal Studios was very good too. Not as exciting, go there first, but as a whole the park is better than Disney MGM for its detail and theming.

We were there when the crowds were low, and didn't stay onsite. We didn't even need FOTL passes.
US/IOA! A Must do!:goodvibes

I do believe IOA was voted 3rd top of Best Theme Parks

That is so funny that you just said that, we were talkin last night about our family trip this summer and we are going to US/IOA for a few days.. DS#2 and i were there last Feb for a Mom son weekend and we felt that we should start at IOA first since neither Dh nor DS#1 had been there and they would just love Spidy, and Hulk and Ice and Fire and Jurassica Park...

We love IOA and I love the rides, theming, everythig about it is so magial..

I think IOA has something for all ages to enjoy. My four yr old and 6 yr old daughters were able to ride most all the rides this time :yay: ! My whole family had a great time at both parks when we visited two weeks ago.

I had heard good things about Mythos (which on previous trips we just walked past, not realizing what was inside) so I made my husband take us there for lunch. I was impressed with the inside of the restaurant, but not the food. I ordered a spinach salad and a cup of cream of mushroom soup. The soup was awful  . It was so watered down I can't believe they were serving it. My salad was alright, but the dressing wasn't great. The waiter took the soup off our bill and I ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll instead. That was something else. A huge roll, mostly rice with shrimp and asparagus in the middle, the whole roll was then dipped in batter and deep fried (I had pictured shrimp tempura inside a roll, not the whole thing deep fried). It was very heavy (way too much rice) and not what I expected at all. My husband got the chicken sandwich wrap (BBQ?) and he said it was okay. My kids didn't touch the pizza or hamburger we ordered them off the children's menu, they weren't very appetizing looking. I think the pasta dishes that I saw on the tables around us looked good, should have went that route. I do want to try the restaurant again, but will definately order differently!

We love both parks but there is just something about the whole theming of IOA from the moment you enter the Port of Entry. If you haven't spent some time looking and listening in Port of Entry, make sure you do next trip! The whole of IOA is very well done.
