Hi Everyone,

I have been reading lots of great info here :) My DH and I are going to the GF (RPC honeymoon DLX) in September. We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary - this is the first half our celebration, since we went to WDW for the second half of our honeymoon. I am in charge of this "celebration".

So far we are going to Citricos, V&A and Cali Grill...timed with fireworks. After reading posts about mini wedding cakes, I am thinking of having one sent to Cali Grill. I was told they can do anything, but I don't know what that means?? I called GF planning and they faxed me over a list of things from private dining, but is does not give any details at all.

I also want to have surprises sent to the room, but instead of a surprise a day, I am thinking of having them all at once. The items that look great are the chocolate cigars (saw Mr. Disneys pics - wow!) Golden ears, Tuxedo Strawberries and champagne, besides the cake at Cali Grill.

I really want to make this special for my husband. We had a tough 5 years (my husband was ill, my father passed away, my DH has family problems). Money is no object, just want to make it really great. I called GF planning, but they were really no help, just kind of BLAH...

Also, I made dinner reservations on my own for Citricos and Cali Grill. When I called GF planning today to make V&A reservations they took a credit card to hold the reservation and my home phone number. I don't get that...I'll be in the hotel!! How come I did not have to give my CC# for the other 2 reservations??

Since I don't know what can be done, I don't know if my ideas are any good. I need help...Anyone?

Thanking in advance

My one complaint with the GF is their pre-planning staff. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get their assistance. Mr. Disney has recommended Travis in that department. You might want to try again and either address your e-mail directly to him, or ask for him by name when you call. I think Mr. Disney said it was okay to name drop. He was well behaved and left a good impression ;) .

The GF bakery does some amazing cakes. I'm not exactly sure of the delivery policy off site though. They will definitely take care of having it brought to one of their restaurants or to your room and I've heard another DIS'er who had great luck with the Poly concierge staff actually going to the GF and picking up her cake for a dinner suprise at the Poly. This is definitely a good question to ask Travis.

For most of the Disney restaurants, you don't have to leave a credit card when you make an ADR, but I do know that some of them require it (like the Princess meals). Hopefully someone who's gone to V&A's can shed some light on that.

I think all your ideas are wonderful and you just need to hook up with a good CM there. Sometimes there is such a thing as too much information, but in this case, I'd let Travis know how important it is to you that this vacation be something special.

If you still have problems, just drop me a private message and I'll see if I can direct you to someone who maybe able to assist you further.

PS. I just noticed that you have a honeymoon room booked. If you haven't done so already, put in a request for a turret honeymoon suite. They are more than twice the size of a regular room, but they don't have a balcony. We stayed in one last year for an anniversary and it was beautiful. You can do a search here on the DIS for more information or I can send you a link with photos.

Thanks Tammi,

We book thru executive reservations at the GF, unfortunately, the woman that has held that position for a while is no longer there :( There is an new guy there now who is totally useless. We do have turret room 4021 reserved, which I love....amazing views (but no verandah).

In the past I would tell her everything I wanted and where we wanted to be and like magic (and an AmEx card). Now I have to call here and call there, and I get the I don't do that kinda stuff...very very annoying! I thought THEY were supposed to do that stuff...isn't that what we pay for???

Thanks for the recommendations, I was looking for some new ideas, and the staff was no help what so ever. I will try calling back next week and ask for Travis. I just love your and Mister Disney's posts...really great and very entertaining :rotfl:

As long as I have the dinner reservations (which I made on my own..so much for ER and Planning!) The other stuff can be figured out a week before. I'm kinda nervous to request these things too far in advance...I'll wait till the 2nd week of Sept.

Thanks again Tammi

look into a specialty fireworks cruise from the gf which takes you around the lagoon, the electrical water pageant & then to a nice view of the mk fireworks on board. also look into a behind the scenes tour theyre awesome. me & my fi did the dolphins in depth, which is a dolphin encounter at living seas & the backstage safari at ak, which was so interesting & the animal sightings were great on our last trip. 407-wdw-play.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone. I have often thought of a behind the scenes tour. My only concern is them being fun at first then drawn out and boring...I am still considering it, I have to do more research about them.

The wishes cruise is a good idea too!

Thanks so much!

I don't know if your DH would be into it but you could go to book a fun scavenger hunt for your DH. I can't remember the name exactly of the company that does this but I know someone on the DIS will be able to tell you. I think it was Gifts of a Lifetime or something to that affect. They can plan out just about anything your DH likes. I did a Star Wars one for my DH. It's a fun way to spend and afternoon. And if you have had some hard times maybe a little fun is what you need.

Why not just play it by ear? Maybe you'll stumble upon a quaint 10 table restaurant with no menus.
