Surfing lesson

I'll be making ressies quite soon for my DD and cousin to have a surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon

For those that have done this, is it reasonable for a couple of athletic young teens to assume they'll be able to stand up on the board by the end of the lesson? Any other comments on this activity?

Haven't been to the TL surfing lesson, but my semi-athletic 42yo husband tried surfing last year in the ocean at my Florida sister's house. All three of my nephews live in Florida 2 blocks from the beach and surf. They make it look so easy. Took DH about 3 tries to stand up for about 2 seconds. But he did it! So I'm sure if an old man can do it so can these young men!

TL surfing might be a better way to go, he said he was exhausted by the time he paddled way out in the ocean to wait for a wave.

I'm sure they will have lots of fun! Hmmm.... maybe I'll get hubby the TL surfing lesson next year!
