Has anyone done the surfing at Typhoon Lagoon? How was it? My DD10 is interested in doing it but my TA said it's at 5:45AM! She's not a morning person and I imagine she would be exhausted the rest of the day. I'm also not sure how we would get there at that hour! Is it always that early or does it change throughout the year?

It is always early to allow for the lessons before the park opens. The class size is very small and personal with lots of waves. It is one of my DD's absolute favorite things to do. Yes, it is exhausting. You carry your own board back up the hill/walkway to start all over again. I would not advise it for anyone not used to vigorous physical exercise.

I cannot comment on transportation as we always rent a car and just drive ourselves there. I would imagine that you would have to pre- arrange a cab otherwise as I cannot imagine Disney providing transportation.

If it is something you or your kids enjoy it is highly worth getting up early to do. You can either spend the rest of the day in the waterpark (as long as you have a entry ticket as lessons do not count for entry to the waterpark) or we usually just do a resort/pool day for the rest of the day and maybe evening entertainment and dinner at one of the parks.

My son loved it. He did it several year's ago but really enjoyed it. I know we went early but I don't recall the time. We had a cab pick us up in front of the Resort and I believe by the time he was done the buses were running. I'll have to double check with my husband because I don't remember how they got back, but I thought it was by bus.

My DD12 would LOVE this.......idea for a birthday trip!!! Would she need a wetsuit/rashguard specifically, or just whatever suit she feels comfortably covered in? What about water shoes? We generally use them in the water parks, but seems like they might not work on the board. TIA!
