Surf Lessons in December?

My DH wants to do the surf lessons at TL. Of course that's the only thing he's really expressed an interest in (saw it on the travel channel of course!). A couple of questions:

How hard are they to book? Only one day will fit in our schedule really. It's a Friday. Of course I'll call at exactly 7 am to book it...but does anyone know how hard it is to get a spot? I'm hoping it'll be less popular in December?

It's at TL, which normally closes for rehab RIGHT around the time his lesson would be. Do they often book it and then cancel them if rehab happens? I'm assuming they are ONLY held at TL?

TIA!

I booked one for my dh's b-day for Oct., and I just called 90 days before, at around 2 p.m., and got a spot. They don't even take your credit card info to hold it, but they do ask for 24 hours notice to cancel. They should let you know on the phone while booking if TL is closed and won't be offering the class. And TL is the only place you can do it, as it is the only one with a wave pool.

DH saw it on the travel channel last year and has been casually talking about doing it on our next trip, but I think he doesn't want to spend the money, so he hasn't mentioned it lately. He's turning 35 2 days after we leave, so he's getting surfing lessons :teeth: I made the ressie for the last day of our trip, just in case he injurs himself  I'll be sure to post to let everyone know how it went :goodvibes

Thank you so much for the info! I'll try this weekend... Great idea about the injuring-self thing! I didn't think of that, but his surf lessons are toward the end of the trip (if they happen). Of course, that night is date night so I hope he stays mostly in one piece! I plan to send him solo to TL. I would love to watch, but no way DS will understand. I think we'll hang out at the Hippy Dippy pool that morning if it is warm enough. :sunny:

You will be able to watch him take the lessons, but the rest of the park is not open yet. Have fun.

Oh, I meant DS & me will stay at pop that morning. DS is 4 and has autism so I'd never take him to watch something, like that anyway, that he couldn't participate in. We'll sleep in then hang out at the resort pool while DH surfs. :smooth:
