I am considering making a few small welcome bags for our upcoming family trip to the world to get everyone pumped up. However, I am not sure what to put inside of them. Our group consists of people 1-57yo so was hoping for a few general items that could apply to everyone. The 1yo is already taken care of. Our trip is in August if that helps.

Disney themed goodies would be great but are in short supply here in the boonies and remember this is supposed to be a suprise so buying local is a must (means no online shopping and no Disney stores nearby). Oh, and I'd like to keep the bags as inexpensive as possible. Thanks.

The only thing that I have so far are Disney Pez Dispensers and lollipops

Look for disney fruit snacks at the grocery store. Also, check out the dollar tree, they have all kinds of disney pencils, pens, etc. I got DS all kinds of pencils(mickey and cars and myself tink), big autograph pens (mickey), myself a tink journal, DS a disney photo album. I've seen huge lollipops there with the disney characters as well. They also have disney stickers.

If you have a disney store near you check there. They have been having great sales even on already discounted merchandise. If not maybe check the disney shopping website, there are discount codes on mousesavers. Hope that helps!

I would get all of the kids glowsticks. These are almost a "must do" if you are at the parks after dark & will save you a lot of money (are expensive at the parks, compared to Walmart).

I also give each of my kids a disposable camera for each trip (regular & an underwater one).

This is very practical - but what about rain ponchos for everyone? You can get them very cheap at any dollar store. I also put small flashlights in the bags I made for the kids last time. Have fun!

little sports bottles of sun screen, you know the kids with a clip on it.

rain ponchos

disney bandaids

little fan, the kids you wear around your neck

new pennies for the pressing machines

you could always pick up some t-shirts or make some tie day shirts for everyone. there's always checking out laughingplace.com to have them purchase some things from the park that you can pack up before you leave.

We're going for christmas and I'm going to get everyone a holiday ornament, some new pennies and a pen. I'm sure there'll be other things, but that's it right now.

Maybe Disney popcorn, they have the microwave bags now at the supermarket. I have also seen Disney pastries in our stores as well they are usually near the Little Debbie stuff and they had all the characters. I saw mini disney cell phones today at Big Lots for 1.99. These were 5.00 at the Disney store.they also had pens, princess stuff as well. The tShirt idea may be nice as well as sometimes you can get them at Michaels pretty cheaply and they have all sizes. Good Luck and have a great trip!

You can get some puzzle books/ games for them to play while traveling. Juices, soft drinks, snacks. ID holders. You could go to Home Depot & pick up some of the Mickey Headed paint chips & put in their bag. Alien Green(lime) is the color for the DIS boards. Stickers.

Go to Target in the $1 section & you can probably get some really cool stuff.

Almost forgot, how about some Disney dollars.

Have fun.

OK I think I have to steal your ideas!!! I love the welcome bag idea. Will you be mailing them to the hotel to be given out upon arrival or will you just give them out yourself. I just have 4 people including ME but the other 3 are not disney die hard so I am trying to pump them up as much as possible....ya know SHOW THEM THE MAGIC. GREAT IDEA

I like the disposable camera idea and the ponchos. The one thing that I didn't see was gum...we're not a big gum family but have been told that you cannot buy gum in disneyworld.

This is what I have in my disney bags for everyone:
Ages dd-6yr, 34 to 62

disney scarves, magnets, picture frames, keychains, plush poohs, glow necklaces, minnie photo wallets, I believe that's all. We exchange giftbags once we check in to Pop. We are like little kids opening up our bags. My dh makes everyone a t-shirt to wear for our chef mickey breakfast. We get everyone to gives us the $ for the t-shirts and he surprises everyone. Last yr., we had our picture on the front w/mickey ears like the mickey mouse club and our name @ the bottom and on the back we had everyone's picture and it said our 2006 disney vacation. We got a lot of compliments on them and the characters loved them. This year's t-shirts, he is going to put a group picture (photopass pic) of every yr. we have gone and do the edges like a postcard. I can't wait to see them. But anyways, we love the disney bags. We've done them now for the past 7 years.
Have fun!

You could surprise everyone with matching tees. I love making personalized tees for us to wear at Disney and I love seeing others wearing them, too...especially a group with the same design. They really are easy to make and everyone will have something unique which they can enjoy even when they get back home. The link below is a great source to buy tees at very inexpensive prices -

If you don't want to make your own design there are a lot to choose from here -

We are going on a cruise. We had bought sandpails instead of lugging them around I sent them to the cruise so they are waiting for us when we get there. I decided since I was doing that I would make DD13 and DS9 baskets. I made t-shirts off of the disney website. You can choose any picture, different fonts and texts, shirt styles and colors etc. They ran about $15.00 a piece. I also purchased matching flip flops from Disney to go with the shirts. I also included a glow in the dark necklace from target, suckers, tropical mike and ikes, disposible camera and also an underwater camera---I think that is it. I figure I would buy a shirt from disney anyway so that is out of teh way, and the sand buckets needed to get down there anyway. I enjoyed making the baskets!! While I was at it I put in a basket for DH with a t-shirt from disney online and a certificate for his cabana massage and some other little things

I've made treat bags for my kids every trip. I have added candy/gum/disney fruit snacks. Character watches bought on clearance, Target had some the other day. Disposible cameras. Water toys, goggles, small beanies, character stationary, pens. Wlamart has light up character pens for $1.
