Surprise we are going to Disney World!! âDay 3
November 8/02
Our Cast of Characters:
Me-Vanessa-Disney Fanatic and Trip Planner Extrodinaire!
DH-Dale-Disney Lover
DS-Keewatin-10- (Kiwi for short)-Also a Disney Fanatic
Got our wake-up call from the Mouse himself-so cute when he says âup and at em pal-big doings going on!â DS loves the waterparks so our first stop today is Blizzard Beach. We took our rental car and arrived just before opening and join the crowd waiting to get in. There was no security here checking bags. We stashed our stuff in a locker and then hit the âslopesâ! It was not busy at all and we did most of the slides with no wait. Our favorites were the tube rides. DH really wanted to do the toboggan racers, DS was mad as he came in last place, I bruised my knees on the way down! We had a leisurely float around the creek and then worked up our nerve to go on Slusher Gusher, none of us were quite ready for Summit Plummet! It was quite the slide, very fast and pretty much felt like you dropping straight down. We did use the chairlift to get to the top of the mountain once-was a nice view. Whew-there are so many stairs to go up! DS and DH loved the wave pool. By now it was lunchtime and it was starting to get busy and very hot, over 30 C, so we headed out and over to Epcot and took the monorail to the Contemporary Resort for lunch. We had hoped to ride up front on the monorail but someone else beat us to it. Once back at Epcot we got our FP for Test Track and then did Honey I Shrunk the Kids 3D-we loved the sneezing dog at the end! We peeked in The Land and then had a snack-popcorn and ice cream. We were able to walk right onto Spaceship Earth-we all love this ride however today it stopped 4 times with technical difficulties. It was strange to just be sitting in one place hearing the same thing over and over! We did both Body Wars and Cranium Command for the first time, pretty educational, we all liked Cranium Command more-no waits for either ride. It was now our FP time so we went back to Test Track-, we noticed the standby line was over 1 hr long-DS absolutely loves this ride and had a blast!
The park photographer took our pic in front of SpaceShip Earth, it turned out fabulous, it is a nighttime pic and it had a digital addition of Mickey Mouse! I was bound and determined to get over to World Showcase to see Tapestry of Dreams and Illuminations as we missed them last trip. Both were just fantastic! DS got a front row seat for the parade and Illuminations was a stunning fireworks show, the music was great. Our dinner was in Morocco at the Tangerine Café, it was quite good, we had the lamb and chicken. Would recommend it to others. Got back to our resort by 10:00 and turned in!
