Hi Folks,
I am brand new here - I have noticed that there are a few good threads here started by people working hard to lose weight.
I would like to add another. I have been overweight to obese for my entire life. I have been on numerous exercise programmes and diets but never had the stamina to see them through. Some just plain didn't work from the outset at any rate.
I was faced with the embarrasing situation of not being able to find a single item of clothing that fit me when I went hunting for work clothes in early January of this year.
Now for my part I do think that native Irish people are much smaller than native South Africans (p.s. I am living in Ireland), so it is already challenging to find clothes that fit when you are slim. It took 11 shops to find one shirt and one pair of trousers that I could get into. So you can imagine I was more than a bit annoyed.
I had been told of a good pharmacy run diet by a former colleague of mine last year already but had put off signing up as Christmas was looming (did not want to miss out on all that good food!). Following my shopping disaster I made the effort and I have not been disappointed.
In my first week I lost 9lb/4.something kg, and have lost a consistent 6lb/2.something kg every week since. I still have a heck of a long way to go but at least I am seeing results.
I would like to open this thread to all of you who are on diets or weight management programmes to share your good and bad experiences and would ask that we all offer a bit of support to each other on those down days that inevitably come.
