Hello -- will be running in Goofy's Challenge (half marathon on Sat and full marathon on Sun) this coming January, and that Saturday (1/9) is my Mom's 65th birthday! My folks are coming along to support me. I would love to do somewhere special for her birthday dinner, but not too exotic or heavy on the food because I'm running the marathon the next morning!
Suggestions? (No kids along on this trip, all adults ;))

First of all, Wow! You go girl! I'm running my first ever half marathon in November so the thought of doing that and then 26.2 miles :faint:.

Now my two suggestions are based on cost. California Grill is beautiful and usually has several light fish/chicken dishes and they'll work with you if you don't want certain sauces, etc. But it's also pricey. My other suggestion is Wolf Gang Puck Express at DTD (it's essentially counter service but you do have a server; maybe you could go over to Goofy's Candy company which is right across from WGPE and get a celebratory cupcake for your Mom). They have a lot of YUMMY fresh dishes and the outside eating area is really nice and peaceful (the indoor eating area is nice as well).

Also, Flying Fish Cafe (at the Boardwalk) gets a lot of mixed reviews here on the Dis but I think it's really good (but also pricey).

Thanks for the suggestions! The half marathon is a great race distance -- congratulations and I hope you have a blast!
