SuperShuttle question

Plotting my return...

I booked my flight through priceline.com, and I included my booking for SuperShuttle with it, both to and from the hotel. I'm assuming that for when I'm arriving, I just exit the airport, find where the SuperShuttle vans are and show them our vouchers.

But I'm less sure how it works for getting to the airport to return home - do our prepaid vouchers ensure that we will be picked up (they only state "hotel zone 1" not an address so I'm assuming no?) or do we have to call SuperShuttle and let them know when we need to be picked up? And if so, do we need to figure out when we need to be picked up to make our flight, or do we tell them the flight time and they figure out when they need to get us?

Thanks in advance!

In the past, I've just called the number on the voucher, tell them my flight and hotel info, and they will give you a pick-up time.

Generally, SuperShuttle likes to pick you up three hours before your flight's departure time. They say they like you to call 24 hours in advance of your return pickup, though if you call with less than 24 hours notice, they can sometimes accommodate you. I wouldn't advise tempting fate, though.

Hi kayliegh, in this case I would call Supershuttle and let them know which hotel you are at and arrange a pickup specific to your hotel. Supershuttle will give you a time frame that is ~3 hours before your flight; this is good to know in case you were thinking that they'd pick you up later. Take the earliest slot available if you are traveling out of the distant airports like LAX and using Supershuttle during heavier traffic times.

We use Supershuttle every time we travel to DL and they've been very reliable for us. Here's what to expect on the return to the airport:

24 hours before your scheduled pickup, Supershuttle will send you an automated call reminding you of your departure. You don't need to call back unless you have a change of plans.
The day of your return, you have a 15-minute window waiting period at the hotel's transportation unloading zone. (Ask the desk where it is.) It's good to be there a few minutes early, just in case, but IME they have always shown up within their 15-minute window.
It *helps* to have a printed-off copy of the voucher to confirm your travel and to show if your gratuity is paid or not. They do work on gratuity so if it's not pre-paid, have some cash on-hand for that. BTW: I've never had them question if we owed any balance. This is a *helps* suggestion because printed receipts always fall into the "good idea" box for traveling. :)

HTH!

Same thing as the previous posters have said. Just call them 24 hours before your flight and you'll be given a pick up time. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the advice everyone! :) We won't have a cell phone with us (coming from Canada) so I'm assuming we can just call from the phone in the hotel room. Or is it ok to call them even earlier to arrange our time, like before we leave for our trip?

It's okay to call before your trip. We always arrange our shuttle pickup well before we even go to Disneyland, usually months in advance. :)

Which airport? The pickup time will be different if you are flying from SNA or LAX.

Thanks Kittyskyfish! I think I'll do that!

DebbieB, we're flying via LAX. It will be an international flight too, which I know makes a difference from domestic.

Hi Kayleigh83,
You may already have gotten your answer, but you will need to book in advance your pick up for SuperShuttle for both arrival and departures.

Since you prepaid I recommend you contact thier central reservation service and let them book your RT transfers. When you arrive at the airport across from the baggage claims you can use any courtsey phone, and it links direct to the SuperShuttle dispatch and let them know you have arrived and what gate/terminal your at and they will send your van.

Make sure to let them know to inform your driver you have a voucher and it's prepaid, so he won't request payment again :drive:

1-800-Blue-Van is the res number.

Thanks for the info! I didn't realize you had to reserve for the arrival as well, I thought there would be vans waiting there and we'd just show the voucher to prove we paid. Good info to know!

... I thought there would be vans waiting there...
If you use the Disneyland Express, they ARE just there, every half hour or hour, depending on the time of day, between 7:30am and 10:30pm. I way prefer the Disneyland Express for these reasons:

1) You're on a large bus with plenty of personal space. SuperShuttle is a small van where you're elbow to elbow with other riders.

2) You don't need to make a "pick-up" reservation, which means less stress for you if your plane is running late. You just wait at the stop and get on the bus.

3) They often (but not always) have tv's with Disneyland video playing to get you excited about the trip.

Some people complain that the Disneyland Express always stops at the Disneyland Hotel first (which it does). The odd thing about this is that they get no guarantee that ANY shuttle will stop at THEIR hotel first. If you're going to stop other places first, at least you can be in greater comfort.

Be aware that there are many vans that say "Disneyland Express" on them. Don't get on ANY unless it's a tour sized bus decked out with Disney characters. Cost is $32 R/T for adults, $25 R/T kids 3-11, and free under 3. You can find discounts on these prices here http://www.mousesavers.com/shuttle.html . Print them and take them with you.
