Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

I finally made it over to your pre-trip. Been meaning to since you finished your last TR so I have some catching up to do.

It sucks in the short term to be fiscally responsible but in the long term it really does pay off. Good for you guys to look at the big picture and weigh out all your options.

The suspense is killing me!!!

You will have a great vacation regardless of which resort you're staying at especially knowing that you are saving your money! Besides, you'll need to save that money for when you have babies and need to go deluxe for the convenience of the monorail & boats!
Hehehe. I will post the results tomorrow. :thumbsup2

That's a very good point! I like that. :rotfl:

Hi! :wave2: Thanks for reading. It really does suck in the short term but it's going to be worth it in the long run and we'll be happy we did it now instead of later.

Meanie. :rotfl2:

But you're a smart, financially responsible meanie. :goodvibes
Hehehe. I'm good with that. I like the way "Smart, Financially responsible meanie" sounds. :rotfl:

LOOK at your ticker!! 2 days! Can you handle the excitement? Are you all packed? :hyper: :bitelip: :hyper:

Oh LL! I love your options lists, as always :thumbsup2
Good choices though, I agree, no hoppers (we never use them), just plan our days more efficiently to hit when we want and take a break in the afternoon. I vote...either Pop or Music for the value resort that you picked!

Thanks! Our trip in September was the first time I actually park hopped. We did it a lot but I planned our days like that. We'll see how we feel once we get down there or get closer. If we ever get May hours I could start planning....:rolleyes2

I know! 2 days! After all this time, it's really here!

No, we're not all packed, but we're getting there. I NEVER finish packing early...just doesn't happen. But I'm hoping to be almost done by tomorrow night. We aren't leaving until about 5 pm on Tuesday, and that's just to stay overnight by the airport. Flight out is bright and early Wednesday.

Sometimes I can't handle it because I'm so excited, then I get overwhelmed, then scared that I'm going to do something wrong, then I get worried about DD9 and the plane, then I get proud that we're going, then I get hyper and try to get a zillion things done all at once, then I get giddy that I get to do this with my family, then I get sad that it will soon be over, then I get.....:crazy2:

Just a few feelings going on, can you tell? :rotfl:

No More Changes! No More Changes!

I think you will be very happy staying at a value because you will still be at Disney and you will have the peace of mind of knowing that you were fiscally responsible! :thumbsup2

I think you will be happy at a value resort - I would have chosen value, but DH felt strongly that we need the extra space that CBR can give us - plus by staying at CBR with the cool pool, we can drop the waterpark and more option from out tickets and the kids will still have a blast swimming.

We are debating the park hopper option (for us thats $200). For now we dropped it, but I suspect we'll add it back on. I'm going to plan out the week with it and without it and see what happens. I think we'll be fine not hopping for the first half of the week (it may actually make things easier and slow our pace down a bit), but we like to revisit our favorites in all four parks on our last couple of days. We'll see...

I think you are making a good responsible choice - and really, how much time do you plan to spend in the room??

I think you guys are really smart and good for you for taking the time to make a BIG decision about being financially responsible!! That's half the battle!! And I don't think you'll be disappointed about the value resorts, they are clean and how much time do you spend in there really? We've done the last two trips in value because of that very reason, I would rather save $1000 on our room that we don't spend very much time in than go into debt for it or use that money to pay down debt....looking forward to your decision!!:goodvibes Don't keep us in suspense too much longer......lol!:rotfl:

I am very proud of you for being so financially responsible! And value Disney is WAY better than no Disney! I totally get what you mean about being excited to have a new resort to research! We are sick!

Good Girl :thumbsup2

You are going to be just fine in a Value. We stayed in Values plenty of times and they are great. The rooms are smaller but with just the two of you, it's plenty of space for you and all your stuff.

With a minimal amount of badgering from my wife I have finally made it onto the boards to say hi to everyone. :wave2:

So as you all have read thus far you know that we are planning a road trip to WDW in May, and that our resort had recently changed to a value.

Any ideas so far? :confused3

I think I'd be in trouble if I let it slip out.

Good call on not revealing the resort, Marc. That would be trouble with a capital T. Cultivating suspense is a big part of the trip report fun!

Welcome to the DIS! Looking forward to hearing the his/hers trip report!

:wave2: Hi Marc! Soooo happy you're here on the boards w/us! I know but I'm not telling- so na na na boo boo everybody!

Aww! Those are all the normal feelings before a trip. You are going to have a fantastic time!

No More Changes! No More Changes!

Seriously, no more changes!! I'm happy with our decision. I think it's the best one for us.

Exactly. As much as we loved WL in September, the only reason we justified staying there was because we had free dining. We still want to go to Disney so it's just about making a few sacrifices to make it more affordable. :thumbsup2

The suspense won't last too much longer. I am going to reveal after I reply to these comments.

Thank you, not to toot my own horn but I am very proud of us too. We are being much smarter with money and I'm really liking it!

Good Girl :thumbsup2

I'm not worried about the space at all. I think it will be fine. I'm really excited for the value we picked too.

I vote for ASMu, that way we might run into each other.:goodvibes
:scratchin You'll just have to wait for the big reveal!!

Hi Honey!! Pffft to your claims of badgering. :snooty:

He has many things to learn about the Art of DISing and Trip Reporting. :rotfl2:

Time for the big resort change reveal!!

So I briefly described the values to Marc. All Star Movies, All Star Music and All Star Sports. I told him that if we were going to stay value again, that I rather not stay at Pop again, that I'd rather stay somewhere new. He agreed.

My two choices were ASMo or ASMu. Marc quickly ruled out All Star Sports, yeah, I am not typing those letters out. He ruled it out because he knows his wife isn't the biggest sports fan and that we both enjoy Music and Movies.

I was leaning towards ASMo, only because I love movies. You should see my DVD collection, it's insane. To give you a little hint to how huge it is, Marc & I cleaned out some of our DVDs yesterday to sell at FYE and we earned $89 on about selling 35 DVDs. We still have over two boxes full. It's insane. It's not the first time we have sold DVDs either. Cleary we have issues. You are reading for our Resort, not our DVDs.

I knew that I would be happy with either resort so being the good wife that I am, I let Marc pick. Which is super hard for me as I tend to be a bit controlling with our Disney plans. Surprising, huh? :upsidedow

So what did Marc pick??

ALL STAR MUSIC RESORT!!!

(Obviously I can't take credit for the pictures. So thanks to those who did take them.)

Honestly, if I had picked I would have picked Movies BUT after coming home and reading about ASMu and hearing others opinions I am completely sold and super excited about staying there.

So after checking both ASMo and ASMu on the Disney Website when I got home and triple checking with Marc he was sure that Music was the right one. Like I said, hard for me to give up control of the Disney plans. I called up Disney and were able to change our stay over to ASMu. I even requested a certain section but I'm not revealing that yet either. I still have four months of updates to get through. :rotfl:
