Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

Just found your PTR! Yayy another May one!! We'll be there in May too for the first time and it's nice to see what other May travelers are planning.

I think you made a great decision going with ASMu. If all goes as planned (fingers crossed!) we will be staying a night at ASMu before switching to the YC for a week. We stayed at the POP in July and it was our first value but we just loved it. Bright, clean, fun and the mouskeeping was the best we've ever had. Plus, the food courts are FANTASTIC. We are really going to miss having a food court at the Yacht Club.:sad2:

Can't wait to see how the rest of your planning goes!

Congrats on choosing your new resort! All Star Music is the only AS resort we haven't stayed at. But I think you will like it...Sports and Movies were pretty fun!

Another May trip planner here. We have many of the same possible ADR's We are staying at POP, looks like ASMu is a good choice. Can't wait for those May hours to be announced.

I didn't find that the bus service was too bad....EXCEPT to DTD! But service to DTD is a bit spotty from lots of the resorts:confused3

The only thing that really bugged me RE the busses was there is no cover while waiting at ASMu, and it could get quite hot (or wet) while waiting. It's the same at POP and the other All Stars too, so it's not a ASMu issue...but a 'value' issue.

I'm looking forward to having our car on our next trip...just for the flexibility:thumbsup2

Paula
I hate that the values don't have the covers, it's very annoying. You wouldn't think it would be a big deal for Disney to cover those lines!

SO glad to hear that you are STILL going!!!! I almost thought you were going to say that you cancelled the whole thing!!!! I think you made such a smart and great decision for the two of you!!! I am really excited for you!!!

GusGus---HELLO!!!!! We are so glad you hopped aboard for the PTR ride!!! Can't wait to hear more from you as the PTR continues!!!!
Nope, no canceling!

There's a thread just for ASMu? I need to find it and read it.:thumbsup2
These are the two that I have found.
All Star Music FAQ thread & tips.
All Star Pictures.
The second one has pictures of all the All Star Resorts.

There seem to be a lot of May travelers! Thanks for joining in and reading.

They do seem like a lot of fun!

I wish they would release the hours too. I check every day. I just want to plan!

My family loved ASMu. Mind you we stayed in a family suite in the Jazz building so it wasn't too far a walk from the lobby and yet far enough away from the main pool to be quiet.

I thought the bus system was okay. Paula is right that downtown bus because it does the water park too takes forever and luckily we weren't in any big rain storms waiting for one. They do have cover closer to the building it's just that you might lose your spot in line if you wait by the building.

I think you'll have a grand ol'time even if it isn't the wilderness lodge because it is still Disney!

I think read somewhere that the May hours won't be released until February.:confused3:headache: That might work for those that have later 90 day windows, but what about those that have dates for the first of the month?:sad2:

That's right. I much rather go to Disney then not at all and in this economy we are very very lucky to be able to go to Disney at all. :thumbsup2

Thanks,LL.:thumbsup2

I'm thinking you are right. I am sure Disney is waiting 90 days to release the hours with the new ADR window. I am just glad I am towards the end of the month so I have time to plan.

Me too. I pretty much know what we want to do I just need park hours so I know on which days we'll do them. Except our first two days. Day 1 we always go to MK and eat at one of the resorts on the monorail. And Day 2 is DD(16) birthday and she want to go to AK and eat at Boma's for dinner.

I have a pretty good idea about what we are going to do, I just need to plug them into the actual days. I want to go to MK on our first full day and that's a Saturday, at least for the morning part. I'm worried about it being too crowded on Memorial Day Weekend. :confused3

120 Days

or

4 Months

or

17 Weeks = 17 Mondays at Work

or

2,878 Hours

or

172,703 Minutes

or

10,362,192 Seconds.

Not that I am counting or anything....

So what made me think about the various time increments until our Disney Trip??

The fact that today marks 30 Days until we can make our ADR's!! :hyper:

Of course I am still thinking about them but so far I haven't made any changes to what we want. Yet. I don't know if I will or not but I have been limiting my time on the Food Porn thread in hopes that I won't get overwhelmed and totally revamp the ADR's again. I think once our ADR's are made I will feel like this trip is real. I keep feeling as though everything is not set in stone but I think I feel that way because of the ADR's. In 30 short days, I will not feel that way anymore!

While at the mall this weekend, we went to the Disney Store and put some $$ on a Disney giftcard. They were out of Disney Dollars but they convinced me that the giftcard could be used the same way in the parks so we went for it. I have a question though, they did say that it can be used for dining. My question is, can we use it for tips? I was thinking of setting aside some money for the tips and just putting it on the gift card. Does anyone have experience with using a giftcard just on tips? We are going to try to limit our spending on food and just stick with what the dining plan gives us (except for Jiko. *Drool*) but I don't want to put the money on there and not be able to use it for tips. What does everyone think?

I'm going to leave with your pictures of the countdown calendar. I have been getting discouraged that the time is dragging by slowly but then I looked at a picture of the countdown from a few weeks ago and you can see a HUGE difference. :hyper:

There are 48 pictures on our countdown so once we get to Day 48, Friday April 3rd (which just happens to be our big moving day!) I will post a picture a day, seeing that our countdown consists of what we love about Disney.

I can't believe how much is uncovered already...17 Mondays left (and there are a few long weekends in there for I bet there really aren't 17 Mondays) :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Technically there are 16 Mondays of work but I still have to count Monday because that would be misleading. ;)

We have a nightly ritual of taking down the Mickey Head. Marc gets upset when I do it without him. :rotfl2:

Love your different time incriments countdown!!! and WOW, the countdown is really coming along!!:cool1: There is a HUGE difference in just a week or so.

I'm intersted in the gift card thing for tipping, too. I"ve never thought about doing something like that before, great idea!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: That's precious!

I think I have 19 Mondays left...I think. Maybe, 20.

If you are at 30 days until ADRs, that makes me at 46 days.

I can't count anymore tonight. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I just love your countdown!! How on earth did you get that figured out?!?!

Aghhh I kind of wish our trip was later in May but... we arrive on the FIRST.:scared: I haven't even chosen our TS restaurants because I have no idea where we will be on which day. So darn frustrating.

And cute countdown calendar!

The countdown is really moving. I stare at it so much that sometimes it seems it's going slow but then I look at the older pictures and get all excited. :rotfl:
I think the gift card thing would work well in theory but I just don't want problems.

I cheated!! Date Duration Calendar. I check this website at least four times a week to play around with dates. :rotfl:

I still can't believe there are no May hours. I am crossing my fingers that on Monday they will release May. This gives people a few days at least before their 90 Day window for May 1st.

That calculator is too cool!!! I am having way too much fun with it. Thanks for sharing!:goodvibes

And I will cross my fingers for Monday too.:thumbsup2

Love that count down calendar. We will start one at 30 days. Friday April 3rd is a great day-my oldest DD turns 5! I know that you mentioned before that it was becoming a challenge to start a family. I have been through almost every treatment/procedure/medication-feel free to pm me. I wish you lots of luck, it is a hard journey but very worth it. Also crossing my fingers for May hours soon. I am also trying to stay away from the dining threads.....

What a great idea! I can't wait!! :)

Re: the gift card I don't know about tips. I know you can use them for snacks at all the carts and for counter service.

And hurrah for saving money for Disney!! :cheer2:
