Hi Christen! Wow it has been a madhouse around here the last few days! I hate packing sooo much that I keep letting myself get distracted with other things every time I decide to start packing. Seriously five days and counting and I have not EVEN started!!! As far as the gray stuff I thought it turned out pretty yummy but I can't wait to compare it to the real stuff. That is if they still are serving the master's cupcake for lunch BOG. To make it I just borrowed a recipe that I found online an copied it. It was surprisingly pretty easy to make too.
Here is the recipe I used:
Ingredients:
1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cup milk
15 regular Oreos
1 (8-ounce) tub whipped topping
3 tablespoons instant chocolate pudding mix
edible pearl sprinkles, for garnish
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, mix the vanilla pudding mix and the milk with a whisk. Set in the fridge to chill for 5-10 minutes.
Place the Oreos in a food processor and blend until they are fine crumbs with no chunks.
Take the pudding from the fridge and mix in the Oreo crumbs. The mixture should be a dark gray/black color. Then, fold in the container of whipped topping. The color will be lighter. Next, mix in the chocolate pudding mix and stir until completely combined!
To serve: using a cake decorating bag and a Wilton 1M Star Tip. Swirl a small amount onto a dish and top with a few of the pearl sprinkles. An alternate serving style is to swirl a small amount on top of a graham cracker to make it look more like it does in the movie!
Thanks again for following along. I still have some catching up of my own to do with yours as well!
Oh my goodness you guys you will never guess what at day this has been! Background....Sunday I checked the weather for our flight out of DFW and saw that the winter storm was most likely to hit the Dallas area the evening before our flight. Panicked we tried to get an earlier flight but since we have non refundables American Airlines said only to the tune of about $1800 So for the last few days I have been on the weather like a chicken on a june bug waiting to see if and when they were going to admit the weather was going to bad enough to let us change to an earlier flight....and we were set on the Friday morning 6 am too. Flash forward to this afternoon, I spent all day calling and checking every two hours to see no change in the status of our flight and really getting discouraged about the possibility of missing some Disney Days. Then it happened....as soon as I got off work and picked the kids up I noticed that the weather changed from a warning to a watch. I quickly got on the phone and was able to change our flight!!! Woo hoo....except we had to get another 6 am....like tomorrow morning at 6am! And I had only packed about 20% of our stuff!!
So here we are at 8:15 pm and I am finished packing! We were able to rearrange some things and now since we are arriving in the morning (a day early) we get a bonus day in Disney and we are staying one night at POP Century!!!!!
I am so excited you guys! I went from one more day until disney to zero...now I am going to bed for 4 hours because we have to leave at 1 am! I will try to keep some postings tomorrow to let everyone know how it all worked out!
Hey guys sorry its been a while....we left for vacation in December and I never came back to my PTR
Life got busy with the holiday season and...well ya know....oh and did I mention that my DD came down with the flu the day after we got back from vacation? Talk about timing good grief. Even though I have neglected this report I have been busy in my spare time uploading trip photos to photobucket (bleh) and trying to get all my little duckies in a row to start a trip report. I have a link here
I still have some catching up with some of you who were nice enough to follow me along in our planning experiences for this trip and will be hopefully checking out some PTR's that you guys have going. Hope you will want to stick with me and see how things turned out on our trip...it was quite something lol Anyways hope to see ya real soon ~Jenn
