Smaller Support teams for the WISH racing team - please go to the thread to be placed on a team. We do this to keep the numbers to a manageable state and to spead out to all the smaller teams to try to keep it equal.

If you are still participating, please let me know. Maura is trying to keep the numbers at a manageable state and there are a few on this list that I have not seen post in sometime. I may send out messages to see if they are still interested, otherwise it may clear out a spot for some newbies.

OK, let's Try a race post again. What's up for September?

9/5 - Disney Land Half Marathon
Tracy - dsnyfn21

9/11 - Reeds Lake Tri (Sprint) - Carrie - wtpclc

18/9 - (European way, just for Kate! ;) ) Guilden Sutton 10k

Well, I'm finally back in the good ol' USA and while I'm happy to be back, I'm unhappy that I haven't been able to get in ANY workouts. :(

Since I was gone for 6 months, my DD doesn't let me out of her sight for very long - makes it hard to run with a 4yo attached at the hip!! :)

I finish my R&R next week, and then I'll have 2 weeks of 'work' before the W&DHM. Not long enough to train, but since I'm not going with the goal of breaking any land-speed records, I think I'll be OK. I hope! :guilty:

Hi all

The week has gone fairly well. Monday I did 4.7 mile, Wednesday 4.0 and Friday I did 6.2 miles. Once Again, Monday was an easy day and Wednesday was fairly quick. Since this week was a cut back week, I decided to try more of a race pace workout. With a "goal" of 3:15 I need to keep a pace of 14:54. My average over 6 miles today was 14:47 just about where I needed to be. Next week, I'm going to do either 9 or 10 for my long day and I'll need to really try and keep it slow again.

Have a wonderful race Disneyland half marathoners!!!

Amy glad you're home safe and sound- I'm not toally surprised your DD's clingy! Bless!

Jeremy sounds like everything's coming along really well. Good goal.

Me just in from 11.33 miles, can't control my pace- starting off way too fast so struggle for the first half until I calm down. Averaged at 8:45/mile, and tried to cover some of the course for my next race in 3 weeks-

Race alert guilden sutton 10k- 18/9/10

Whoop whoop warriors!

I hope everyone at DL is doing great! Can't wait to hear the reports!!!

My training has been pathetic. We just got back from Disney and I really need to get back into the swing of things!

Hi Warriors! Have got my Wk 18/Day 1 training complete. I am making slow progress, but at least it is forward motion.

Here's hoping those of us who are struggling for a routine (me too) can get something going.

Lily- I'm surprised this cool weather hasn't helped you out more. It was actually in the 40's yesterday morning and this morning here in Mt. Vernon, Ohio (about 2/3 of the way to Columbus from Cleveland).

Amanda - Give it a week and hopefully you'll get back into the swing of things.

I posted this in a seperate thread but today I had a bit of a breakthrough in my running. I've been doing this walk 3/ run 1 for 8 weeks working up to 8 miles a week ago Friday (2.66 of it running). As you remember, I tried a month ago to go to the Walk 3/run 2 Bingham recommend with much success. Today I decided to try what I thought would be a single long interval. 400m before the 2 mile pole there are marked lines for 400m, 300m, 100m and 40yds. I ran the entire 400m to the 2 mile line in a little over 3:00. My goal was to do 4 1/2 miles so I walk a 1/4 mile out and back to the 2 mile line and ran the 400m again the other way. After Walk/running a little further, I pushed fate 1 more time and ran for 4:00 straight covering almost 1/3 of a mile. My walk laps really suffered after each of these run so I wouldn't want to race with these intervals but I think with Charles's help in the seperate threat I think I'm ready to slowly adjust my walk/run interval.

Kate - Your run sounds liek my swims in races. hope you can get the pace figured out! On the bright side, my runs are just always slow these days so it could be worse. ;)

Amanda & LIly - I'm with you on struggling to be on plan! Keep telling myself I'm in tri training until after this wekend. however, there hasn'r been much swim or bike either. :scared1: Good luck ot both of you!

Jeremy - Congrats on the interval tweaking! Hope you continue to make progress!

becky - Tak eit easy and you will be fine. Welcome home!

I did 6 on Saturday. teh weather stunk adn my body was still sore frm core friday. My mini victory is that I did not use the mist/raint/mist/rain as an excuse to cut it short. Must get it in gear soon!

back from the Disneyland Half Marathon and had a great time. Lots of park hopping, hangin with friends, baking in the sun and oh that Half marathon thingy...:lmao:.

Got a time of 2:48:56 and not too bad with what I called tired legs at about mile 11.

Next up is Wine and Dine which is about 4 1/2 weeks away!!

I'm not a Half Fanatic for nothing!! :cool1:

Carrie: Hope you find the marathon training motivation soon! I wish I had your enthusiasm for swimming and biking! :goodvibes

Jeremy: Good job with the interval training! I know that I personally prefer distance intervals to time intervals - I prefer to have a set distance goal to run to, as opposed to "running out the clock". I volunteer as a running coach for young girls and we always tell the girls to look for a target and run to it!

Kate: You are just so fast! :goodvibes

Tracy: :thumbsup2 on the DL half! :cool1:

I ran my first post-pregnancy race yesterday. It was a local 4 mile (actually, it was billed as 4+ and ended up being 4.46 miles according to my Garmin) that was tacked on to a half marathon. My official time was 58 minutes - I ran it with a run 3 minutes / walk 2 minutes interval and it didn't feel too bad, except for the uphills! I ran with Callum in his baby jogger and he slept the entire time. Turns out pushing the stroller is a lot more of a workout, even with my tiny 4 week old! I'm looking forward to getting more training in with it (and Callum, obviously!)!

Yes, Callum is dressed for the Arctic. It was 50 degrees and overcast when I left the house. This will be Seattle weather from now until next June.

January marathon weekend feels so far away, but I'm trying to get excited for it. I might toss the Seattle Half Marathon on Thanksgiving weekend into my schedule, just for some added motivation. My brother and his GF (they are both runners and are both joining us in WDW for the half this year) are visiting that weekend and I'm sure they could be convinced to run with me.

Tracy - I thought your time looke grat fro DL! WOUld have never guessed you went 2 miles with tired legs! COngratulations!

Sarah - Way to go!! That is awesome! Starting with a 4-miler? You are amazing!!! Oh, and it's not Callum that make it hard to push. those strollers are so heavy. Way to go! Callum looks adorable too!

Howdy fellow Warriors,

Got home from Disneyland on Monday & still trying to catch up. What a great time we had. Sorry we did not make it to the Friday night meetup. The time was at the same time as our dinner ressie at Blue Bayou.

I set a new PR!!! Ran it in 2:02:39. Previous best was 2:14:28. Man was I pumped, and still am!!! Next up Wine & Dine. Has anyone seen a link yet to print the waiver for W & D?

Stan

Stan - OCngrats on teh new PR!!!! Aewsome!:banana:

Stan That is an amazing PB!!! What a fantastic effort. I hope you're still riding high!

Sarah Callum looks so cute, I have been telling everyone at work all about how brilliantly inspiring you are :)

tracy once again- whoop for your race! How are your ankles doing?

Amanda give yourself a break, after a Disney break it takes time to get there. Thinka bout how proud you'll feel after your back at it and get out there when you're ready!

Carrie great work keeping going when you had an excuse to stop. Those runs are the victories i think. Perhaps we should pace each other!

lily you're doing it! Progress is progress!!!! it'll fall into place before you know it.

jermey hurray for your breakthrough.

me we've just exchanged contract for our house- so in 9 sleeps we should be completing and fingers crossed have our own home. It's been a slow process, but I've learned a lot- I'm Kate and I'm a control freak!!!! Ran speed work yesterday of 3.2miles and did spinning this morning. My eye's on the 10k in couple of weeks, but very nervous about the hills :scared1:

Keep at it guys!!!!

Hi Warriors

Stan - congratulations on the new PR and I have not seen any waivers for the W & D yet

Kate - great job with the miles

Amy - glad to have you back in the states.

Tracy - it seems you had a great time in DL

ASM - We were at Fort Wilderness this past weekend and we walked in that area in the morning. Today I walked a 5K and had a great pace average of 15.36:banana: W & D is getting close.

Kathy

Kate - lol. My pace has done nothing but go backwards. WOuld love to prun with you, but you're a bit speedy. ;) COngrats on teh house. Yes, you think it will be fun, but turns into a long frustrating process, especially when no one else is on teh ball like you are. ;) (Yeah, I'm the same way. hence teh reason I have been in my house 14 years and have no plans ot change)

Kathy - Great job! Jealous of you being at WDW, but I have my hcance next month.

Kathy - WTG on the 5K your pace is really improving. With the excitement of race day, you'll have no problem with the W&D.

Kate - Congratulation on the new home.

Stan - Great job on the new PR at Disneyland.

Sarah- Callum looks so cute bundled up the way he is.

AFM - I switched up my walk/run intervals Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday I did 4.5 mile at a 2:30 walk/1:00 Run Interval. Today I did my first 10 Miles of this season at a 2:45 walk/1:00 run interval. I'm hoping to play a little bit more with the interval over the next couple of weeks before Finally picking one the 1 st of October.
