Hi, I put this up on the budget board and got a few good recipes, never thinking to put it here where more people go. I always have a Superbowl/ Brother's birthday party and make food. I always make the usual taco dip, rye dip, chips and dip and little hotdogs. Anybody have any good recipes that they use for the biggest day in football, the commericials aren't that bad either according to my sister-in-law:rotfl2: . That is why she watches the Superbowl. I love to watch both while enjoying some good food. TIA. I always feel like I need to go to the gym after Superbowl Sunday.:yay:

2 cans pineapple chunks
1 lb. thick sliced bacon
toothpicks

Cut bacon strip into 3 pieces, wrap 1 piece around a pineapple chunk, spear with a toothpick top with another pineapple chunk. Place on a wire rack on a cookie sheet.

When done, bake at 375 for about 40 minutes then turn up oven to 400 and bake until crispy (about 20 minutes)

Serve in a warm crockpot, place a paper towel on the bottom to catch the remaining grease.

These are surprisingly popular

What is Rye Dip?????

Rye Dip
1 1/2 cup of mayo
1 1/2 cup of sour cream
2 tsp of dill
1 tsp of minced onion
1 T of parsley
pinch of beau mode (spice)
6 oz. of corn beef

You can add of decrease spices to your liking. You don't even have to add the corn beef if someone is vegetarian. I have a niece who is and when I bring this to parties and make some for her without the corn beef.

You can serve this with pumpernickal or rye bread.

Oh yeah your pineapple recipe sounds really good and easy too. I think I'm going to have to try it.:)

Yum to the pineapple recipe. I want those.

I like chili cheese dip (1 lb velveeta, 1 can chili... melt it and throw it in a crock pot to stay warm) with tortilla chips. It's good man food.

I love my cream cheese dip. So easy. Block of cream cheese, put hot pepper jelly over it and serve with club crackers or wheat thins. May not look too appetizing but goes over BIG!!

My girls make a football field cake!!

Rectangle cake, licorice for the field posts, rolos for one team, hershey kisses for the other, striped hershey kisses for the refs, M & M's for the endzones with the team names, small white chocolate kisses for the lines.

They have soooooo much fun with it!!

Too bad we can't use our blue, red and grey colors for the Pats!! But we will support the Colts in their quest for the Super Bowl victory!!
