OK, I found a GREAT deal with the Super Sunday AP pass deal. The only problem is that we are from out of state and won't get our AP's until we get to Disney. We are planning to get the AP vouchers at a Disney store because we have gift certificates. Will they accept the voucher when we check in??? If not, what is the best way to get the AP passes. We have never been to Disneyland before, so we are not familar with the park. Thanks in advance.

Jen

We are getting our vouchers from the Disney Store.. We leave in 17 days and it takes up to 2 weeks for the store to get them.. You get vouchers which you have to take to the park and get your actual annual pass before you check in.. (got all this info from this board and another that you have to have the actual pass to check in and the vouchers won't work... See your yearly pass doesn't start until you get your actual pass so they want to be sure that you activate it to get the deals at the hotels).. Are you confused yet?

Getting the AP might be alittle bit of a hassle--but totally worth the savings for our family trip!

I just priced out the different costs for our June trip--FYI:

Booking on disney.com website:
Basic package 4 days/3 nights 2 adults/2 kids (8 & 14)
Includes tickets, hotel, etc.
total $1400.00

Disney Travel Company:
with Disney Club pricing
total $1135.00

getawaytoday.com -- This might be an option--although they did say something about not being guaranteed hotel availibility--what ever that means?
total $959.00

Booking my hotel seperate with AP prices:
Saturday $129. /plus tax
Sunday-Monday $99./plus tax
Total lodging $394
one AP pass $189 (with DC discount)
buying 3--4 day hopper passes off disney.com website for $111/each $522

Total price $916.00 !!!:)

I think that it will be worth the extra cost for the AP, because I will probably be taking a trip again during the year with my mom and sister.

I think that we will just go to Disneyland first--get the AP for me and then check in. We are driving, so we will arrive in Anaheim around 11:00am or so.

Good luck planning your trip!

P.S. Disneyland is really close to DLH--within walking distance--we plan on parking at DLH and then going over to DL.

Where is the closest location to get the Actual AP?? What would be easiest is if I sent my hubby to get his while I wait with the luggage and daughter. Oh and how long does it normally take to get to the closest location and actually get the pass?? Thanks in advance again!! After finding this deal, my level of excitement increased 100%. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

From what I have read on the boards, when you buy an AP you get a voucher--the vouchers can be purchased at a Disney Store before you leave home (allow at least 2 weeks), or buy it at the ticket location at DTD, or out in front of Disneyland--then you need to go inside DL to Guest Services on Main Street to have your picture taken, etc. I believe there is another location too--I think Plaza Pavillion??

I don't think it would take very long...depending on how long the lines are. It's probably about a 5 minute walk from DLH to DL. If you walk straight thru DTD without looking at any of the shops!

We have thought about how we should do this whole thing...This is our plan:
My kids are usually so excited once we get anywhere near DL they hate the whole checking into the hotel process... I think we will just head to DL first, I will get my AP validated and we can do a few things at DL and then I will head back over to DLH and "check-in". We can always get our luggage later. I can meet my family as soon as I finish--what did we ever do before cellphones?? LOL!

Sue:)

P.S. I bet you can leave your luggage at DLH with bell services until you return to the hotel. We will have our own car since we are driving, so we will probably leave the luggage in the car and get it later. We plan on arriving early (before the official check-in time) so I think we will be o.k. heading to DL for a bit before I return to check-in. Does that make any sense??

Thanks, that makes sense to me. The problem we have is that I don't think we are going to rent a car. So someone will have to stay behind with the luggage and daughter. I assume that as long as one person has as actual AP you are OK with check in, right?? That way if hubby went to get his AP, we could check in and then I could go get mine when we go to the park. We will be arriving before noon I think.

You don't want to store your luggage at valet/bell services?
It would be much easier. If your room isn't ready for check-in, that's what the hotel would do for you anyway.

Most hotels will do this no problem--especially since you have reservations at the hotel.

You and your daughter could walk around the hotel alittle--maybe get a snack or shop while your husband goes to get an AP. He could purchase all of your tickets at the same time and just activate his so that you can check in. When you all go back to DL--you could activate yours.

Only one of you needs to have an activated AP for the check in process. Hope it works out for you!

Sue:)

doodlebug,

Please make sure you let us know how all of this works out for you on your upcoming trip!;)

I'll be looking for your trip report when you get back!

Have a great time!

I sure will let you know... Only 16 more days until we leave...

I went ahead and ordered our voucher from the Disney Store yesterday (don't have to pay until they come in). We are getting there around 11:30am so our room most likely wouldn't be ready anyways so we will probably leave our bags and head to the park and maybe one of us run back to check in a little later... Hopefully everything will go off smoothly.. Would really like it if they would let us check in with the voucher and just come back and show it to them since we will be there for 7 nights. Will ask but doubt they will do it :(

Can you leave your bags there even tho you aren't checked in yet?? I know they will hold your bags if your room isn't ready, but I thought you had to check in first to have then hold them. If not, then that is exactly what we will do!!!! They all 3 of us can go to the park and come back later!!!

<font color=navy>I agree with goofyfordisney. :) While your dh is getting his pass, you & your daughter can leave your luggage at the front desk, then you can spend your time exploring the hotel. Your husband should go to the information booth that is located between the entrances to both parks (the entrances to Disneyland and California Adventure face each other), and find out if he should get his pass at Disneyland or DCA. The earlier in the day, the shorter the lines to get the pass. Going to the park & getting the pass can take him anywhere from a half hour to an hour & a half (if the lines are long).

Ah, Jen, just read your post -- that is the best thing to do -- check in your luggage, and then all three of you go get your passes, then you can experience it together. The Disneyland hotels are very accommodating to their guests, and you should have no problem checking in. :)

Just made my reservation (oh I am excited!!) and confirmed that I could have my luggage held at the Bell Station while we get our annual passes... and yes we can do that!!! We are so excited to not only get such a great deal, but also it is our first time to Disneyland!! And with the savings we have gotten, we upgraded to concierge!!!!

I'm taking my boy's to Disneyland in June and have booked at DLR Hotels with the Super Sunday Deal. My question is will a Deluxe Annual Pass be accepted at checkin or does it have to be the Premium annual Pass?

Thanks!

Thanks Sue for the info!! We're going early June for 3 days at Grand Californian and also mid June for another 3 nights at Disneyland Hotel. My 3 boys are excited!! We were there once before 3 years ago but this time but they were too young to go on Indiana Jones. They are all tall enough now and we know we're going to have a great time!

Super Sunday Deal is a special discount for Disneyland annual passholders to take advantage of at the Disneyland Resort Hotels. For example we're getting a lower level pool view at the Disneyland Hotel for $99.00 plus tax per night. I believe the discounts are good to the end of June.

disneyme,

Just alittle more info...

You need to call the Disneyland reservation line directly. Weekend nights rates (Friday and Saturday) are higher than Sunday-Thurs. All the Disneyland hotels are participating.

These rates are room only rates--not package deals. I found that it was a much better deal for our family than the current package promotion "Kids play free".

Only one of your party needs to have an annual passport in order to qualify.

You might want to read back about a month or so on this board--you will find a lot of disscussions about AP's etc...:)

Hope this helps.
Sue
