At MGM was a great attraction that has been closed for awhile now.I would love to see a updated version of it reopened. If not that some other attraction opened at that location. I feel it is a shame to have that great location just sitting there vacant. What do you guys think? Were you ever in one of old SuperStar skits?I was and DW also and it was a fun experience. We enjoyed it even if we were not in skit,we loved watching just as much as being a part of it.

I still don't understand why they got rid of this one. Disney's all about synergy - why not make the shows simply ABC shows? Have someone be Jim Belushi on According to Jim...someone on Lost....a Desperate Housewives skit? Come one! Such possibilities. We walked by this empty theater on this past trip (like we do every trip) and commented how sad it is to see it empty.

Also, I miss the Monster Sound Show - anyone remember that one - with Martin Short. They chose people from the audience to go up onstage and make the sound effects to go along with the movie. The Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous is just about the worst attraction in any WDW park.

I loved SuperStar TV! I was in the show twice - once as a Vonzell, and the other time as Lucy in the chocolate factory! Yeah, I agree - Disney SHOULD bring it back!

We LOVED it too! My DH was in it and got a pie in the face :rotfl: (can't remember what the skit was, tho!). Anyway, it was GREAT fun!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I loved that show. When I was kid, I was in the Gilligan's Island skit, as the Movie Star. My older cousins were in a Cheers skit. Such fun! Even when you're not in it, it was such a blast to watch. ABC has some great shows now. They should be using them and bring this one back!

My DH also got a pie in the face. I thought my kids were going to die laughing. I had hoped to get a video or something of it, but alas they were not available. I wish they would bring it back too.

I thought it was a cute show too. They replaced it with a musical based on the ABC cartoon "Doug" back in the late 90s which was also good, but the closed it after it got cancelled. I still can't believe they've left the theater empty all these years. Seems like prime real estate right next to the Great Movie Ride and Hat.

unfortunately, it's not the only location in MGM that is like this...
besides superstar TV (and the fun Doug that followed it), there is also the empty and dark theatre where Hunchback used to be...
and Animation is a shadow of its former self, since they fired all the animators....

what else?....oh yes....the behind the scenes studio tour is gone as well...

anything else?

MGM used to be my favorite park...now it's possibly my least favorite because of all the closures and changes. Despite having my favorite WDW attraction (ToT), the Studios is falling fast.
