super soaps weekend

anyone know how bad the crowds get for super soaps weekend?

we were thinking of going down for a week in november, and that weekend will be right smack in the middle of the week i was thinking of...

We were there during SSW in '05. Our trip wasn't planned for then but we had to reschedule from October. The largest crowds we saw were at EPCOT as it was the last weekend of Food & Wine and at MGM for the Soap festivities. At that time they were having a parade down Sunset Blvd every hour with the stars of a particular soap in the motor cars. Nightmare city if you aren't a soap fan. We were caught up in the crowd while trying to pick up our girls' monogrammed ears at the hat shop. DH and younger DD were forced to stand by while older DD and I gaped at the stars. The ride lines weren't too bad if I remember correctly. EPCOT was a zoo. F&W always brings out big crowds but the last weekend I wouldn't be surprised if they were close to maximum capacity in the WS. Oh yeah, I remember that the Osborne Lights also started that weekend, dont' know if it's the same this year or not. We hada great time on that trip, just don't be shocked like we were. I think MK and AK were tolerable though.

And this year, the same thing happens. The last weekend of the Food and Wine Festival is the same as the Soap Opera Weekend. And that's Veteran's Day Weekend as well. Best that you can do is avoid MGM and Epcot during that weekend. Do Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom instead. Do Downtown Disney. Swim in the pool. Go minature golfing. Rent water boats. Go to the water parks.

Hopefully, you have your dining reservatgions made because those are going to be tough to get.
