Who is planning a trip during Super Soap Weekend? I'm going for the second time this year and would love to talk with someone who is also planning to go.

 We aren't going this time this year. We've moved to the week after Thanksgiving. It was fun 2 years ago and surprisingly not crowded. DH :lovestruc got to stalk Maria from AMC for 2 days and then she (and her DH and kids) ended up on our flight home - haha

Anyway, have a great time - wish I was going that weekend! Maybe next year. :scratchin

 Whoo-Hoo can hardly wait, this will be my 7th year! :bounce: Its the 10 year anniversary too, so hopefully Maurice Bernard who plays Sonny on General Hospital will BE there!

Yes, I like Sonny too. But my favorite is Ryan from AMC (no, I'm not that fanactic, I did NOT name my son Ryan because of him), although the character he's playing now really stinks - they need to get him some more juicy stuff - I mean married and chasing down bombs??? Come on!

I'm very jealous - I hope you get a photo with Sonny!

K :cheer2:

Last year I actually saw the guy who plays Ryan at the airport. It was the day that we were leaving. He was three people ahead of us in security. He was there with his wife, baby, and nanny. The baby was so adorable. I didn't approach him or anything. Didn't want to look like a crazed fan. It was exciting just to see him.
I also saw the girl who plays Brooke Lynn on our last day. We were doing a little last minute shopping at Downtown Disney at World of Disney. She was in front of us in line. She introduced herself and was very nice. She seemed very down to earth.
Anyone else have some celebrity sightings?

Silly question perhaps but is this always just an ABC thing? I'm a huge Day of Our Lives fan...would be so excited to meet some of the stars. :goodvibes

Sorry but this is always just ABC soaps. There might be some stars who used to be on Days but is now on an ABC soap there though. Not sure who that might be though.

I have made my reservations at Disney for the second weekend in November hoping the SSW will be the same as previous years. The website says it is the 12th and 13th but the soap hotline is still saying check back in April. This will be my first time going, can't wait. I watch the soaps when I can but my sister has been taping all three daily for years. She is very excited about going. Come on November

Can't wait until November this will be my 10th year attending SSW already made my reservations back in February. Saturday tends to be busier than Sunday. I'm not to crazy about the fastpass system to get autographs. In the past could get about 4 or 5 autographs per day, now one for sure maybe two with standby fastpass. The street jam is awesome. The best way to get a stars attention is to call them their name not their characters name.

Jackie, welcome to the Dis, you will love it like the rest of us. :disrocks: Could you tell me what the street jam is? Since you have been to all of them you must know the ropes. Any tips?

Thanks

The Street Jam is held both Sat. and Sun. nights after all of the autograph sessions are finished. It takes place at the Sorcerer's Hat and consists of all of the stars coming on stage and dancing to a song...then after that is finished about 6-8 stars come back one at a time and sing a couple of songs. Most of them are really good! In the past some of the stars have included Wally Kurth and his band, Susan Lucci, Kassie DePavia, Jacob Young, Kathy Briar, Kamar De Los Raos (sp?). It's quite a mob scene, as everyone is trying to get a good spot to stand. You need to find a place about an hour to 45 mins. before it is scheduled to start. If you have never seen it I would at least stay Sat. night and check it out. It lasts a little over an hour or so.

Is everyone pretty confident that SSW will be on November 12 & 13. Scared to make reservations.

No problem olsona...
Not sure if I'm going this year or not...I have been going for about 5 years now...might take a break this year! I have a blast every year and will definitely miss it if I decide not to go...
