Super Soap Weekend - Should we avoid MGM?

I am trying to arrange our itinerary for our Nov. trip. We will be there from Nov. 7th to Nov. 16th. I was originally planning on doing MGM on either Sat. or Sun. but have since found out that it is Super Soap Weekend. Should we avoid this park altogether or take advantage of early entry on Saturday? We have been to MGM twice so we will just want to hit our favorite attractions and some of the kid's shows. We will not be doing Fantasmic this time. How are the crowds and lines during this weekend?

It is more crowded on Super Soap weekends, but usually the crowds are "regionalized" to where they are doing the special events. If you don't mind lots of squealing women running around, you should be ok.

Although lots of people will be in the park, the regular attractions should not be too much more busy as most people there for SSW will be attending the special events. The only real problem you may run into is busier-than-usual waits for food at the park's dining options as well as at Fantasmic!. My advice is if you can go on a day that doesn't coincide with SSW and it won't ruin your plans for the week, then go for it. Otherwise, you should be fine.

Two years ago we were staying at BWI that weekend before our cruise and did decided to do our favorites again at MGM the morning we were leaving. I know it was a Sunday, but don't remember if it was EE morning back then (although I think so). We made sure to be there early and were surprised at the lines at opening, but when the gates opened all the crowds ran to line up to see the soap stars. We did several rides with little or no wait (TOTx2, RNRCx2, GMR, and went to pizza place to look for Buzz) , had a quick bite at Starring Rolls and got back to BWI by 11 AM. I think the stars are mainly there in the morning/early afternoon hours - so if you get out of the park before those crowds decide to do the park you should be OK.
