Super Soap Weekend Saturday

We went to MGM yesterday for Super Soap Weekend. I will never drag my family there again. If I go, it will be alone! 1st we got stuck in I-4 traffic and didn't make it there until 11am. Our 1st stop was to Wide World of Soaps. We watched the 11:30 show on the monitors and waited for the 12:45 show. At 1st I was standing there holding our baby, then I decided it would be too long for him to wait, so sent him away with dh and other ds. I'm so glad I did! When the door opened, these people in line turned SAVAGE!! I've never seen grown adults act more greedy and immature in all my life. REDICULOUS!!! If I had still had the baby in my arms, he would have been either pushed out of them or sufficated. These people pushed and shoved and acted so badly. Once we got inside, there were hundreds of seats left towards the back. So my mom and I grabbed a seat close to the far left and near the back. It took a good 15 minutes for the seats next to us to fill up, so there was no reason for the insanity.
Unfortunately, I didn't help the insanity at one point. I saw the guy from AMC who plays Ryan come out of a building. I grabbed my camera and started walking towards him. I told my family to stay put, I'd be right back. My mom didn't hear me and asked who I'm going to see. As I was walking away from them I said Ryan. She said who? So a little louder I said Ryan. Well, the # of women who heard me was incredible. They screamed and began to flock in droves over to where he was. He had to run back inside and then came out with 3 security guards. Funny thing is, his escort took him to his signing station and walked right passed, within inches of my family. So my mom ended up taking a close up shot of him, instead of me...I was surrounded by a swarm of crazy women!
We had enough of the crowd and went over to Epcot. Future World was empty! Had an awesome time! Went shopping, then to the Outpost for icecream. They added new flavors!!

lovethattink.................. HI!, I was there on sat. too. I will tell you about our adventure, it is long though sorry..............

1st of all it was me and my DD14, we were staying at the Pop Century and had been there all week. This was our 1st ever soap weekend! This was our last day at disney and my Dh and 5yr. old DS didn't go with us they did non park things. (Thank GOD!) I was so stupid that I didn't realize it was an early entry day! With all the planning i did for this trip i just never even realized this at all.( could kick myself for that!!) So we got up and dressed, ate in food court and at the bus stop at 8:15am. Thinking we would get there in plenty of time for the 9am opening! HA!! The line for the bus was HUGE people were everywhere and we waited 5-10 min. for a bus but when it did come there were 2 of them. We got on one of them but many people didn't get on at all. It is now about 8:30 am as we pull out of Pop. It takes no time at all to get to MGM but not today we sat at the stoplight trying to turn into the park for at least 20 if not 25-30 minutes!! people in cars just kept getting in the lane in front of our bus driver and we were not moving AT ALL!! We arrived at the park at about 10 after 9. still thinking it just opened at 9!

We went to get the fastpasses for autographs and they were all out. only doing stand by passes and the line we were in for GH was so long we couldnt' even see where the front of it was!! So we got out of line and went to see the 1st Soap Talk of the morning. at 9:45 i think. Sure was hot out there in that sun with those pushy people but we had a good standing spot. Saw from GH.. Courtney, Lois, Alcazar, Dillon! Then when it was over we stepped away from the crowds and plotted our next move when all of a sudden i saw Lois posing with Courtney for pics so we went to get a closer look. They were right under the big hat. Once we got over there Lois's body guards look her away but Courtney started posing with guests and she walked right by us and my DD asked her for a pic so she put her arm around my DD and i got a pic of them. She did this with alot of people. All the other soap stars were gone but she just kept doing pics. She was VERY nice. We were standing right by her security (which she was no where near!) and he was talking into a walky talky and saying that she was still out there and he couldn't get her to go in! We laughed at that!

We had tried to get into the 11:30 show you went to but they were already lining up for the next one and we didn't want to see those actors so we left. We went for some air conditioning and a soda but the lines were about as long as they are for big thunder!! Then we walked around and saw the actors doing there autograph sessions and got the premade pics with autographs. We did this for a long time as different ones came out. One of the nicest stars we saw was the guy who plays Lucky on GH. He stepped away from the line of fast pass people waiting for autographs and went over to a lady who was right next to us in a wheelchair and he helped her stand up out of the chair and gave her a huge hug that last several minutes and gave her at least 2 kisses posed for pics also. The lady was crying and was whispering something to him. We were right next to this lady and with him hugging her he was super close to us and you could see his eyes fill up with tears! When he was done with her he had to step backstage for about 1-2 minutes to pull himself together and then came back out. It was the sweetest thing we saw!!

Then we had lunch in a line that took 20 minutes from when i started timing it!!

Then went out to just sit and rest for a bit but as soon as we sat down Susan Lucci walked by with security and my DD got a pic of her close up!

From here we went to the 2:45 GH motorcade thing that ended with an interview at the big hat. While they were talking at the hat i sat on a bench and could see and hear them through the crowds walking past and i noticed a guy walk by who was messing with his hair very much like a girl would and i looked closer and it was Ty Treadway from soap talk he was no longer in his show clothes just a mickey t-shirt and jeans! He had no security and was just walking through the crowds stopping here and there for pics. He really seemed to be enjoying the attention instead of looking for a way OUT! like some others.

From here it was 3:15 so we got in line for the 4:15 GH show at the wide world of soaps. Stood and watched the 3:15 show on the monitors it was OLTL which i also watch but don't LOVE like i do with GH. We were all the way down front in this waiting area since we had been there for an hour waiting and so we thought when all the double doors open we will be in the front!! NOPE! they only opened the back douple doors and all those people in that holding area ( old DOUG LIVE! SHOW) had to cram through that one set of doors and i really thought someone was going to get hurt. My dd who has a problem with such tight places with no air was about to bawl! Her eyes were full of tears and she wanted to just get out of there but we were trapped!! 2 ladies near us said they were CM's (off duty) and they couldn't believe how undisney this thing was and how unsafe! We finally got in but were toward the back and those who had not waited nearly as long as us were down at the front! we saw... emily, nic, lucky, liz, alexis!
After this we sat and had a break for about 30 minutes and i told DD that i was never going to make it for the next 2 hours till the ending parade and concert. She was not happy with me but i was hot, tired, stess, and feet were killing me!! So we left and she was not happy at all. The main thing she wanted to see was the concert and i really wanted to see it too. I knew we should have taken an afternoon break but with so many people and things set up a certain times i just was affraid to do that. Once we got back to the room my DH took DD back to the park. He wanted to ride Tower or Terror again ( they did it twice) and then they saw the motocade and the concert. They got back to the room at 9:30pm. and we had to get up at 4am for a flight home!! By the way i spent the evening with my 5 yr. old eating dinner at the food court and swimming in the pool and we were in bed under covers watching tv by 8:00pm.
I said i will never do soap weekend again!! But my DD says otherwise!!
Sorry this was sooooo long but i had no idea what to expect going for my 1st time and maybe this will help others decide if it is worth it to them for next year.
