Super Soap Weekend 2008?

Man I am so bummed seeing all the names that are already confirmed & I'm missing out by just 4 days man!!!!! Does anyone know when the stars start to arrive??? Do any come early for a mini vacation??? One could only hope right?

Wow, that is SO rude! I've run into some ANNOYING people who push and shove at previous Super soap weekends. (I guess with SO MANY people there, we're going to run into some of them...)

I'm still waiting on more GHers to be confirmed!

I can confirm for you that Greg Vaughan has NOT been invited to SSW. Kelly has, but she's unsure whether or not she is going to/can attend. That's all I can say.

I did see Michael E. Knight 2 days before SSW, so just maybe.

Yes...Greg definitely won't get invited. The last date to RSVP is on Wednesday. So we'll see. Some GH actors are confirmed....others still waiting....

Teamstitch, do you know why Greg wouldn't be invited this year? I thought I'd read that people thought he would be invited and he'd most likely say yes. He's got story going with Kelly/Sam, and I thought they usually like to bring couples that are in story lines, so don't understand why they wouldn't want Greg to go represent GH! I'm sure his 'sister' Lulu/Julie Berman will be invited of course(don't care too much for her), and of course, Robin/KMc and we know the popular opinion on that here, at least. Greg is so awesome, I just don't get it. Okay, you get I'm disappointed, huh? Plus, we were supposed to see him with Kelly at a fan event in Chicago in april, but his wife's mother died so he had to cancel. Kelly would be fun to meet, as we met her in april and she was great, and thought she'd be at SSW. She thought she'd remember us and our names(!), so I was curious to test her out! Other years I didn't care, but having met her, she's great and really good to her fans! Why wouldn't they want more people such as Greg and Kelly representing GH, and making fans happy than having people there that don't want to be there and fans leave unhappy and disillusioned?(sp?) Okay, sorry!

So, Teamstitch, or anyone, any ideas why he wasn't invited? Do they not like him on set or something? What's the deal - anything you can tell us?

Okay, also any good info on Brandon/Johnny? I'm thinking yes as he's new and and they've sure pushed him, and he's with Lulu.

How about any ideas about Michael Knight/Tad? He is awesome to meet also! What a flirt!

Well, GH used to be the line we'd wait in for fast passes, now don't care too much to do that, but maybe for Bradford as we met him in Chicago and he was awesome too, and probably Brandon, for DD18! Like to have our pics signed and say hi again! Maybe we'll have to do more AMC this time.

Teamstitch, another question for you! And maybe I missed this somewhere, maybe not, but how is it you seem to know so many of these soapstars? So you work with them somehow or something? Can you tell us?

Greg had always said that if he was invited, he would attend. Greg was pretty disappointed that he had been overlooked for SSW. He joked that it was because of the chicken dance that he did at Jellyrolls that ended up on youtube, but the truth is, I don't think he knows why he wasn't invited. It was a touchy subject for him.

Kelly, on the other hand, WAS invited but she has another project that she is waiting for GH to sign off on to give her the time off. If they do, then she will not be able to go to SSW. If GH doesn't, then she might end up going. The problem is, the dates of when she will know from GH and the RSVP date are very close to each other. I'm willing to guess that even if she ends up on the list, there is always a possibility of her coming off that list. I would love to see Kelly there at SSW, but I can't be selfish and say she shouldn't do this project to advance her own career because I want her there. LOL.

And as far as Kelly remembering your name, I bet you any amount of money she would've because that's just the type of person she is. Kelly is great that way.

I agree. They take many factors into consideration when sending out the invites, but all of the above just boggles my mind when I consider the fact that Greg wasn't invited. Greg and I looked at each other and I gave him this little sad face and moved my hand as if I was wiping a tear away from my face and he looked back with a sad face on and said, "I know". I think he was really looking forward to being there. It won't be the same without Greg and/or Kelly there.

Ohh, I'm just so sad about Greg, for us and for him. That sure doesn't feel good when you feel rejected, especially by people you work for, and don't know why. Is it possible they are thinking of getting rid of his character Lucky so don't want to promote him too much? And, don't tell me he's suddenly a vet(compared to newbies they are pushing) and too old? He's such a great guy, what could it possibly be. And, why wouldn't they want the popular actors people love who present themselves in such a great manner on behalf of the show? So much better than some we've discussed before who leave fans disappointed. I'm just not all that excited about SSW anymore, our 10 day Disney trip, YES!!!, but SSW not so much at the moment.

But, I bet Kelly would remember our names, too! What if Kelly gets the outs she wants, which I would expect would happen because they want to keep her and I thought they'd promised her that to get her to stick around long term, then might they add someone else last minute and ask Greg? Do you think that's possible and something to hope for? Not for Kelly not to come, but if she can't, Greg to take her place?

One other thing, I thought the reason they moved ssw a week later was that they were having trouble getting confirmations from people for the early week and had to move it. That doesn't make any sense anymore, seeing that they are still waiting on confirmations, etc.

Any news yet on Brandon Barash or Michael E. Knight/AMC? Jacob Young? Or is he already a not because of new baby?

I'm pretty sure a lot of the regulars not yet announced will likely be there.

I read at Studios Central that supposedly Sherri Shepherd (The View) was confirmed on the official website as attending again this year but I couldn't find it. It wouldn't surprise me if she was attending again. She's the best choice, I think, of any of the View ladies to attend. Whoopi's too big of a name (although I thought the same of Rosie and they sent her in 2006), Joy and Barbara probably have no interest and unfortunately, I don't see Elisabeth as even remotely the right choice.
