I see so many shuttles and the ME bus. Which company should we use and why?

Almost done with the planning, then onto packing.

Did you buy the tickets and you are for sure flying?

Okay, I can't help with this one (we only drive in) but bumping because I am sure someone can!!

Flying in for sure on SW and have the tickets, now need to get to the hotel.

You will get both responses on this question. How many people are there in your party? If you have 3 or more, it may be checking on a one day car rental and then return it at a location near DL. Then do the same and get a one day rental near DL and return to the airport. We did this with Hertz a year ago and it came out to close to the same price as a shuttle, and we had a car to go to the grocery store, stop by the beach on the way to the airport, etc.

If you are taking a shuttle, I personally prefer the Disneyland Express bus operated by Airport Bus/Grayline. You don't have to make a reservation, but you can. They make regular stops, like every 30 minutes at the terminal (every hour late at night or early morning). They do make stops at a lot of hotels, starting with the Disneyland Hotel. You can get a $3 off roundtrip coupon here: http://anaheimsightseeing.com/anaheimairport/coupons.cfm

The Super Shuttle is about the same price. The passengers are not necessarily all going to the same area, so they drive all around. I had a return trip on the Super Shuttle going back to LAX. I was picked up at my hotel and then we did several other pick ups from hotels and residences. We then drove around for two hours and I was the last one dropped off. We dropped people off around the city and even went to Long Beach airport before they took me to LAX. I wondered if I'd ever get to where I needed to be.

So, even though the Disneyland Express makes multiple stops at the end, I think it is more reliable and at least you know you are making stops within a few blocks of eachother vs going all around LA. That is just my opinion.

Thanks so much for good words. I think we will just use the ME service with the coupon we have printed out. There are 3 of us but one is a child and I am from a small farm town with not even a stop light for 70 miles!

City driving is not for me. This is going to be fun, but expensive.

Again, we are so close to going and I really need help finishing the planning stage so we can get onto packing!

We have our hotel, Hojo's with Disney card perks and a tower room upgrade. Ok, it is a walk but DS is in a stroller and it has the better pool:goodvibes . We were also given free bus to the park tickets so we can take the local bus if we are tired. I was so worried about which hotel BWPPI or HoJo's but it is time to just go with what we have and leave it alone. I can't over worry this.

We are flying in on SW and I had to pay about $400 out of pocket, not bad for the 3 of us last minute.

I now know what to take to the hotel for shuttle so that is done. Tickets will be waiting at the hotel. I think we are done with the planning.

Now to pack and get ready to have fun.

Thanks for the quick answer.

We like super shuttle from SNA, or a rental car. When we have used SS we have never had to take people anywhere other then the hotels around Disneyland. There has never been more then 2 other stops. Going back to the airport we've never had to pick anyone else up. We've had other guests from our hotel in the shuttle, but that's been it.

What I didnt like about the express bus was the return from the hotel to the airport. They pick everyone up, then take them to a station near the disneyland hotel. They get everyone and the bags off the buses, then divide them up by the airport they are going to. It felt like a huge hassle to me.

Our last trip we had good luck renting a car from alamo "hot deals". It was about $40 with a discount code I got on mousesavers or costco.com That was for a 3 day rental. It was nice to have a car to run to the store while we were there, and our hotel (candy cane) didnt charge for parking so there was no extra cost on that end.

I used Super Shuttle for my recent trip and loved them. With my AAA discount it was only $8 each way, and when I got there, I was dropped off by them, checked in and in DL less than an hour after I landed at SNA! (Then again, I didn't check any luggage so that saved time). They do pick you up 3 hours before your flight but I fibbed about my flight time and still got to the airport with plenty of time to spare...:goodvibes

How far away is the car drop off from the DL hotel area?? THANKS!

We rented from Hertz. They have a location on Katella about 1 mile East from DL. DH dropped off the car there and Hertz took him back to our hotel. When we needed the car on the last day, we called Hertz and they picked us up from across the street from DL and took us to their office to rent the car.
