Which service is better?:confused3

We are staying at the Fairfield Inn.

Well I am going to give my vote to Super Shuttle. I use this every trip. I have never had a problem with it. Super Shuttle is cheaper then the DLE, and although the DLE is a bus filled with loads of other Disney Fans who are just excited as you, your still waiting for people to file into the bus, and then its still more people you have to unload then you would a Super Shuttle. I personally am too impatient when I am excited. I like getting into a cab and going. Depending on the size of your party you can get a whole Super Shuttle to yourself. It seats 6-7 people.

Granted if your with a smaller party you might end up having to share a shuttle with a few other people, but they are getting dropped off in the same general area as you. You might luck out and be dropped off first anyway, but either way I find the Super Shuttle more direct and more personable as you get a chance to really talk to other excited people as you go to your hotel.

Thanks for the info.

At what times does the Super Shuttle pick up passengers? Do we have to reserve online or something?

Super Shuttle is CONSTANTLY leaving the airport any time of day or night. Most of us have known to just walk right up and say "Hey I need a ride" and they load you right away. I would totally suggest pre paying for vouchers (You can buy them over the phone or online and print them off) and even calling to tell them that you are coming and when your leaving. They will ask what time your flight comes in and leaves. That way you are garunteed a shuttle to your hotel, and also for one on the day you leave to go home (This is where reservations are important). But the day you arrive in Anaheim to start your trip, there is no reason to worry about catching a van. Super Shuttle is located right outside the airport doors. So easy to find. And there are always like 6 vans waiting for you. As soon as one leaves, another comes in. So dont even worry about not being able to find one. :thumbsup2 Good luck and have a great trip.

You can reserve on line - http://www.supershuttle.com/FareQuote.aspx - and if you do so be sure to click the "Search Landmarks" box so that you get the lower rate. Otherwise you might get the "residential" rate, not the one that is comparable to DL Express. You should be paying about $16 per person one way.

I have not used super shuttle but used Disneyland Express on Mar. 15 and March 20. I will definitely use them next time we go. We flew in and out of John Wayne and to the hotel we were the only 3 on the bus! From our hotel back to the airport there was a total of 6 passengers on the bus. Our drivers were great and friendly giving us tips on places to eat etc. Through Travelocity I got our our bus tickets for $12 each.

Yes, the bus from SNA is cheaper than LAX - I missed that in the original post. Actually I see that Supershuttle is $10 one way. Mousesavers has some information, including a discount coupon: http://www.mousesavers.com/shuttle.html#dl

One advantage of the shuttle vs the bus is they need to transfer your luggage from the "airport" bus to a "local" bus when you get to the DL Hotel. At least that appeared to be the case last time I picked up someone at the DLH. Here's the DL Express brochure, showing the Fairfield Inn on their loop C.

When riding these shuttles are they vans, small buses or large buses? Do we need carseats for them? I have a 3 yo and 8 month old. We lived in Europe last year so we are used to buses etc without a carseat but I don't want to get stuck at the airport needing them if I don't have one.

SuperShuttle is great. Use this coupon code when reserving online: UYR59. It will save you $3 off each way, per person. However, you do need to make separate reservations now for each person in order to get the discount for everyone and not per party. The total cost per person will be $7 each way. I like to pay the tip online at the same time so I don't have to do a thing when I go.

I do believe you'll need car seats on SuperShuttle, which uses large vans. I'm not sure about the bus (large bus). I thought I remembered that you don't need carseats as they don't have seatbelts and are exempt, but I'm not sure how safe that is for an 8-month-old. There are some taxi services that have carseats.

Where on Travelocity did you get the bus tickets? Was it in conjunction with your flights, or separate? I'm trying to find it on Travelocity but can't locate where I would make these reservations. Thanks!

Sorry, yes it was in conjunction with our whole package.

Last year, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and decided to use Super Shuttle, but didn't make reservations and when we arrived at the airport, they were totally booked up, so we ended up using another shuttle company. On the way back to the airport, we decided to take the Disneyland Express because we had used them before and were happy with the service. What we didn't know, is that they pick up on Harbor Blvd., not at the hotel entrance. We had to drag our luggage out to the street, which was quite a distance. While we were waiting for the bus, a cab came by that had just dropped people off at Fairfield and offered us a ride to the airport for the same price as the bus.:) Next time, we're making reservations on Super Shuttle.

Just beware with the Super Shuttle (even when they say it is a Disneyland Express). We had a party of 6 leaving LAX once and they picked up 2 other passengers and they dropped them in residential areas... I think it took like 90+ minutes for our drop off at the GC...

We always rent a car - it is usually cheaper and allows us to zip out to the store or whatever... even when all we use it for is to get to and from the airport - it is still way more convenient because you go on your schedule.

Hi,

We are a party of 4 traveling together. 2 adults an 2 16 yo boys. If I make the reservations separate for each to get the discount will be all in the same van? I don't want us getting separated.

Thanks for your help,

Bug

You will travel in the same van. With four people do check private car service and taxis to see if that would be cheaper. Usually is not but sometimes you can find cheaper.
