Super Shuttle or Cab from SNA to Best Western Park Place?

Would y'all recommend Super Shuttle or a Cab to get from the Orange County/John Wayne airport to Best Western Park Place Inn or the Disneyland Hotel (we haven't decided which we're staying at yet).

I know SS would be about $20 each way (there are 2 of us), but how long do they take -- are they really inconvenient? How many do they typically put on a shuttle?

What's this "flat rate" I've heard people asking about for the cabs? How do you get one? Do you just ask the cabbie for a "flat rate to thus-and-such hotel", or is it something you have to arrange ahead of time?

From the airport (SNA),

The Super Shuttles are very convient, they are waiting right out side of the terminal. The cost is $10 per person each way. The large ones seat 9 and the smaller ones seat 6. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes to get to your hotel depending upon which stop is yours.
Cabs are there also but can be more expensive from the airport.

From your hotel, you have to call to make a reservation for the super shuttle and they want to pick you up 2 hours before your flight which frankly from Anaheim to SNA is stupid. What I do is to call and schedule a super shuttle to pick me up 1 hour before my flight (they try to talk you out of it, but don't let them) and then about 1.5 hours before my flight, I sit out on the bench at the shuttle/cab stop and it never fails that a cab will come by and ask if you need a ride. Ask them how much it will cost to got to John Wayne airport, they usually say $30 (2 people) and say "no thanks, the shuttle will do it for $20" then they say "ok" and don't even turn on the meter! You will have a private ride to the airport and not have to worry about going around to pick up other guests and other hotels and waisting lots of time!
