Super random Magic Band question.

This probably isn't exactly the right forum to post this in, but I couldn't think of which one would be the right one. So I'm apologizing in advance.

We are surprising our oldest with a birthday trip in April. Last September, we successfully surprised our girls with their first trip & we were on I-4 before we had to tell them. Well, that isn't going to work this time, she is going to realize exactly what is up the second we hit I-95.

So I am going to wrap the Magic Band box & let her open it at her party a couple days before we leave. It would be AWESOME if the "names" on the inside could spell out "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY" or "HAPPY BIRTHDAY...SOMETHING SOMETHING". Does anyone know what order the bands come in the box as opposed to how they are listed on MDE?? I know, most random question ever. But if I can figure that out, I could change the names on the back of the bands on MDE to spell it out.

It was funny you should ask this because I was just looking at my box the other day and wondered about the order of the names, too.

So, I just looked online and my family and friends are listed in the same order that they are in the box. Since it's my account, on the I'm first at the top of the list and the first on the far left of the box. Then it goes from left to right in the box in descending order down the list online. Basically, it's the same order in the box as it is online. I don't know if that is typical or not. I only have one set of MBs. There were five of us, all adults, and they are listed in the order that I added them to my friends and family list. None of them have their own Disney account.

Therefore, I would assume that you could just go down your list with one word per person in order to make out the sentence. Not 100% sure though. And I'm not sure how many characters they allow per band. My sister's name is 6 letters long and they were able to fit that. Maybe someone with a longer name can tell you if they had to cut it down.

However, I would like to say that it surprised me (and my sisters) how much we really liked seeing our names on the inside of the MBs. It just looked really neat. I assume that it would be even cooler for kids to see their names in there. Maybe you would just want to put a piece of paper yourself down below the MBs in the box that says that you are going to Disney. You can get some fancy paper and use a nice font/color to make it look more professional if you want. Just my two cents.

Either way - have fun in Disney!! I'm sure your girls are going to be so excited!!

Thank you! I still have the box from our last trip, but I discarded the insert so we could pack souvenirs in it for the ride home, LOL. If I try changing the names & it doesn't work out, then I could always decorate it another way. Thank you for the ideas!!!

Also, can I suggest you decorate the magic bands themselves? I used nail polish and nail rhinestones. I'm a total DIYer, and it's the single thing I got comments on the most. Cast members everywhere were commenting on it.

They all did pretty well in the Sept heat with some wearing. Mostly the bottom of the bands as they rubbed against everything while we were walking.

Last time we bought some of the vinyl decals that a couple companies are selling. They were fantastic! But I'm thinking of DIYing something this time because I'm a total DIYer myself. Thanks for the tips.

I'm going with a friend's family next week and the bands were in a really random order. Her, her husband, her son #1, me, her son #2. They weren't in alphabetical order either. It was K, G, M, Je, Ja.
