m-tinkerbelle, you did a great job with these photos, especially since you had only had your camera for 15 days. These were very tough photography conditions.
I really like your 1st photo, where you combine the moon in the background with the foreground castle(?) and water. I can see that this was a pretty tough exposure. On the one hand, you could have made the photo darker so that details from the moon would have been more apparent, but your foreground would have been completely black. On the other hand, you could have made the photo brighter so that the foreground castle & water would have shown up better, but the moon would have been "blown out" over-exposed. What you did was sort of a nice in-between exposure.
As you get more experience in nighttime photography, I wonder if you could take 2 different photos and then combine them into 1 GREAT photo using Photoshop. Keep the camera on a tripod so that both exposures "line up". I would take 1 photo that's brighter so that the foreground comes out (you'd probably use slooowww shutter speeds, perhaps a few seconds). And then take a 2nd photo that's darker (using a
FAST shutter speed) so that the details of the moon come out. Bring both into Photoshop to combine them into a new fantastic photo!
Just a thought. Great job!
