Not sure what is going on with our team but I thought I would start a new topic and see where everyone is and how they are doing.

I just signed up for Goofy 2011! Hopefully third time will be the charm!
I have signed up for a Will Run for Beer Series. I have to complete 5 races to get the official coat- I think there are 3 half marathons- one coming up in Feb and March (gulp!)

I am hopefully going to volunteer with the Boston Marathon as part of the medical team. I will find out in March if this is a go or not.

Still looking for a job! I have an interview Thursday for something that sounds interesting. Still on the fence about working FT vs PT

Great talking with you at the 1/2!! I'll be signing up for the 1/2 again but will wait to send in my $$ until it starts to fill.

What a difference a week makes, it was cloudy and 73 today, raining right now (at 1am) and suppose to be clearing and partly sunny and 75 tomorrow.

Hey Goofs! :goodvibes

Congrats again to those that ran during the 2010 WDW Marathon Weekend! :woohoo:

I've been very bad, been on a slight running hiatus... :rolleyes1

Think I'm about to register for the full next year... A little scared since it will be my first full! :scared1:

I'm in for the full. I almost threw up when I hit enter after putting in my payment. :lmao:

Checking in as well. Still running, though I am not yet recovered from the Zoom Yah Yah last week. My next full is the Illinois Marathon, but I think this may be the year where I try my first 50 mile run. (Yikes!)

I was assigned to this team at some point last summer, but I never got the info on where to put miles and minutes.

I ran my first half at WDW last weekend! :woohoo: DH spent part of this weekend figuring out our summer race schedule:

5/15 - Great Urban Race DC (both)
7/11 - 1/10 Ironman Tri (me) - .24/11.2/2.62
7/25 - Rocketts Landing Tri (DH) - 1.5K/40k/10K
8/1 - SheROX Philadelphia Tri (me) - 800m/15K/5K
9/12 - Nation's Tri (me) - 1.5K/40K/10K

My week of rest/recovery ended Saturday. Now what do I do with all of these miles and minutes?

But I wonder if the Goofs would take me back.

Sorry for submarining on the team after the Ironman, but I really needed a mental and physical break; I just ran 5 miles this AM...I'm not horribly out of shape, but I'm definitely not as fit as I was a few short months ago.

Mike

P.S. skating, PM me your email, and I'll add you to the spreadsheet...i'm working on a new one for 2010, and will have it up later today.

Good luck with your utlra! I ran one a few years ago and loved it. It ranks right up there with the best experiences I've ever had.

Oh, you Goofs! I do so hate to pop in, being all business and all that, but that's the life these days. I do miss reading about what's going on in your lives, trust me!

Anyway, I've started a thread about teams, whether they should continue, and if so how? I'd love to get your input!

Joanne Thanks for starting a new thread. Sounds like you will have a busy running schedule--do the beer races involve drinking any before/during or after the races?! Good luck with your interview.

Shan Take a deep breath! You will be up for this. You have a lot of time to train. If I can do it, you can too.

Rich Wow...50 miles. I was just telling someone today that there are still a few races I can't quite wrap my head around yet. That would be one of them! Although there are a few WISH'ers that have done them, so I bet you can get some words of wisdom from them.

Mike Glad to see you back. Breaks are good. So do you have any plans for 2010?

I'm letting myself have a nice recovery from the marathon--XT only until next week. Hoping it puts an end to all those little aches/pains that have been lingering for a while. If not, oh well!

I think my goals for the year may revolve around 1/2 marathons and improving my time. I want to focus on being better at something, not just trying lots of things.

Seems like out Goofs are slowing down, and we should decide if we want to continue. Any thoughts? If so, we need a new captain. Any volunteers? Also, I will admit that I don't know who all the members are anymore. If we continue, a "roll call" is definitely in order!

Maura

Shan - Congratulations on registering for the full! It's a great goal to work toward.

Mike - Welcome back!

Rich - You amaze me with your mileage. Great job.

Maura, I'm still here and would enjoy remaining a member of the team.

My only plans for 2010 are to run the Steelhead half IM, do a couple smaller tri's, try to get my golf game back in shape (considering what IM training did to it) and reconnecting to my family and friends.

Thank you for the welcome...I was embarrassed at the rapidity at which I disappeared.

Hey Goofs, remember me...:goodvibes

I just want to let you all know that you are the most awesome teammates anyone could ever ask for. Through it all, you have put in your miles, covered for each other, picked each other up and helped each other along. I don't think anyone could ever ask for more than that. You all rock, remember that!

As for 2010, I am going to have to bow out of the captain role and the team all together. I wish that I could continue but my life is just out of control. Shelby is moving forward with elite softball and David is playing hockey (another time-consuming sport). I am trying to simplify my life and get into routines so I don't lose myself in the whole process of them growing up. I also want to have the time to enjoy them growing up. Just 3 short summers and my little girl will be gone to college. :scared1:

So I am sending you all hugs and wishing you all the best for 2010 and beyond. You won't see my face much here at WISH. Or anywhere else for that matter but, just watch your back because I may be behind you at a race somewhere...you just never know. That part is sure in my blood for good, no matter what.

Rock on Goofs!!

Lisa Thanks for being our captain and good luck with your busy life. Pop in every so often and let us know how it's going.

Maura

I am still in also if the Goofs continue. The people I've met and encouragement I have received here has been priceless.

Lisa, we will miss you and you will always be a Goof to us!! You have been an awesome captain!

If a new captain is needed for the Goofs and no one else is interested, I will step up and lead the team, lead to where I have no idea but I will do my best!!

Count me in...I dont post alot, but I read daily...will try to be better!

Suzanne, you'd make a great captain! You've got my vote!

Lisa, I'll miss you, you've been so supportive, don't leave us for good!!!

Lisa, I just manage to crawl back in and you are leaving??? :scared1:

I hope your situations straighten out as mine have started to, and you can come back soon!

Mike
