Super Goofs March Challenge

Hi goofs!

Ran 8 miles in 1:20 this morning.

I even stretched afterwards. (coaches will keep you honest that way- "Oh stretch oh yeah I ALWAYS do that")

Good News: the leg pain was very manageable during the run.
Bad News: the leg pain is still there. Both legs - almost like they are tired but instead of heavy or achey its painful.

We think it might be related to diet since the pain isn't in a specific location. I don't eat enough and so if I get lazy about what I do eat it could very well effect my recovery. So I am off to eat my pre dinner snack. :)

Hi SuperGoofs.

I am happy to be here, looks like a real fun group! My siggie will reveal a little bit about me and there is also DD's trip report from last fall trip to WDW. Please feel free to peruse at your leisure and learn about me, DD and DH. You will enjoy it.

I will post exercise miles and/or minutes for March so far.

MInutes: 570.
Miles: 8.5 for the month of March so far.

I am doing cardio and strength training. My cardio is currently on week 5 of the c25k program. I am really enjoying it.

I am looking forward to being on this team. Thanks for having me!:cool1:

Nothing to report...rest day for me.

Susie--Please make sure you come back with a good race report on the OKC Memorial Half...I'd like to run it in '09.

Lisa--I completed a sprint tri, so the distance was very manageable...1/3 mi swim, 12 mi bike, and 5K run...I had a lot of fun, so I'd like to do more.

Angie--The calc time tells you how many hours were completed, while the time entry is in the standard hh:mm format. So for example, 1:30 (time entry) is one hour and 30 min which is equal to 1.5 or 1 1/2 hours (time calc).

slow week for me so far...

3/10
1 mile/17 mins

3/11
1 mile/16 mins

hope to get my rear in gear and pump it up a bit...thought I'd have more time w/the time change, but so far I've just had more to do!

Last night I went outside for 2.16 miles in 26:43.

Today I did 55 mins of Power Pump and 26:42 on the bike--so total of 81:42 mins and 7 miles today.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. You guys are the best team a girl could ask for :goodvibes

My goal today was 3 miles after work and an hour at the gym, but I'm feeling so sick right now, I can barely stand. I took some sudafed this morning around 5am because I was so congested I couldn't sleep and my mom thinks it might be a reaction or a side effect of it.

Has anyone ever felt lousy after taking sudafed? Sorry to be so off topic, I've just never reacted this way simply from sudafed before :confused3

AA: Sudafed does have a "rebound" effect for some people. I have never had it but I have heard of this before. Maybe ask on the main running thread. There are a couple PA's on there. Hope you feel better soon!!

Angie: I think it is the time of year. Too much to think about with cleaning out, spring kidlet detail, etcetera.

I had planned to hit the gym today for some miles on the elliptical but ended up running instead. Made it a little slower today as it was not technically a "run" day but XT. 2.79 miles in 30:01. Still under 11 mpm so we will still cheer!! :cheer2: I hope everyone got out and attained their goals.

Wednesday
4.24 miles

46:45 on cardio ( I ran with dd11 for the first mile)

AND

45 minutes of strength and stretch.

Sorry Goofs, I MIA'd it yesterday. I am glad to see everyone posting, it does my heart good (and yours too!!).

Chad: Boots, snow, what were ya thinkin?????

Cecilia: How fun is that, running with your DD. And how speedy is she!!!!!!!!

Anyone sick/injured: :wizard: Much PD for fast recovery.

All others:  I hope you are all well. I would love to hear from Laurie (HockeyGirl) and Laura (lllovell) I had no posting for either of you last week and so far nothing this week. Just touch base if you can.

Today is 50 minutes running. My right big toe at the base is sore from yesterday so it will be an easy run. I kind of hurried myself along the last 0.25 mile to meet DH who ended up being a half hour late , hence the injury and my being slightly peeved today. :sad2: I have also been discussing the spring break trip to DC with DH and he is not liking the $$. The train is pretty cheap at $560ish for the 4 of us but the hotels in DC are outrageous in April!!!! :scared:

Sorry if this is a double post...my computer froze in the middle.

Tuesday...walking 109 mins/6 miles

Wednesday...exercise bike 60 mins/11.86 miles

Happy Thursday everyone, the weekend is almost here!

Yesterday rode for 1.5 miles. Today was a 2.5 mile trail ride- two big bucks because he was feeling GREAT. I just laughed at him and stuck on!

I am having a nagging pain in my left quad. Rest is not helping nor stretching. I ran for 4.82 miles in 1.02. I did a modified galloway. I ended up running 4 and walking 4 because I don't know how to change the time on my Garmin. I want to do a 4/1. Can someone who is more tech savy please help me! I have been on the fence about Galloway but the funning thing is my time was not that much slower than if I ran it all.

I may have to change Great Bay to a walk and try to get some running in if my leg continues to bother me. Only happens with running- not with riding or spin.

BTW- a very belated welcome to all the new members. I think we have the most supportive team!

Cecilia: How fun is that, running with your DD. And how speedy is she!!!!!!!! :

That was my birthday present from her. Seriously how manic am I if my kids think a good birthday present is to volunteer to run with me?

4.2 today in 41:13

We cut it short today because we are moving our Saturday run to Friday to avoid the LTO issues of Saturday. Now I can run on Sunday too which I normally never get to do.

Cecilia
