Oh gotcha! Didn't know you had a 'runner' to be! My middle son walked at 7 months, he was so little and walking! He is the one who was the gymnast, is there a connection? Maybe??!!
Well even when you can't go for a run, you are running after them!
...ah the good old days....
Now my three DS 22, DS 20, and DD 15 (16 on April 4th as she keeps reminding me!) just drive me a little crazy but in a good way!![]()
Yes, already a runner. He certainly keeps us running after him! He can now open up all the cupboards and likes to throw all the contents on the kitchen floor. Maybe we have a baseball player on our hands? Or maybe a QB?
~My birthday is April 4 as well!~
Ashleigh Your son is adorable (I peeked at your trip report), and I can't imagine what it would be like to have a child walking so early! BTW, I love OKW. My sister has DVC there (they bought the first year it was available) so I have been lucky to spend time there over the years. It is big, and feels different from other DVC resorts. I have said (too many times to some of my family) that I would be very happy living in a 1BR unit there! They broke the mold after they built that place.
As for me, on Saturday I did an impromptu race with a friend. It was a 5 mile trail race called "No Frills, All Thrills" at a local MetroPark. Can you say hills? Oh my god, I have never done a race that was 80+% up and down. Only the inital ~1/2 mile or so (and same finishing) were flat. It was hard!
The weather here--which has been glorious all week--switched back to late winter (happy vernal equinox!) so race temp was 36F with a wind of about 5-10 mph. Once I started running I was comfortable--temperature wise anyway! Fixed on one person who seemed to be about my pace and age group and tried to stay with her. Funny, I chatted with her after the race--she was faster uphill and I was downhill, so every time I thought I was closing on the downhill, she would regain on the uphill. I did end up passing her after the 4 mile point.
Finished in 42:53 (8:35 pace), which was 4th in my age group (would have placed based on last year) I guess this is an okay time, since it was a trail race and hilly, but it's off my best 10k pace fo sure.
Got a tech shirt, and they were selling nice headbands for $5, so picked one of those up. Then my friend and I headed to Ann Arbor, where we were supposed to meet up with her son for lunch, but he was a no show. So just the two of us at Blimpy Burgers.
I was expecting to feel it in my legs yesterday, but amazingly did not, so I headed off to Ashtanga Yoga (and skipped my scheduled LR-- a fair trade)
Today might be a rest day--haven't had one in a little while. We'll see.
Hope everyone else is doing well and your teams are surviving in March Madness. MSU pulled out another heart stopper (after again blowing a big lead). Their chances are dim though, having lost their best guard. But the weekend games sure were entertaining!

Thanks! I am glad to hear you like OKW! I am excited about staying in a new resort.
Sounds like you had a good race!
Here in dreary Erie it has started to snow again. No big surprise...I am looking forward to spring break! Tomorrow is our last day of school until April 7th! I am so excited to be able to stay home with Colby for a while! If the weather breaks again maybe we will be able to go out to the peninsula (there is an awsome trail for walking/running/biking). But it has to be pretty nice for us to go down there. It is always about 10 degrees colder down there because of the lake.
