Super excited to stay at SSR

I'm so excited, I just convinced my husband we could stay at SSR instead of Pop Century. For the first time ever, I'm renting points through another website and I was able to get a Studio at SSR for half the price Disney was asking for on its website!

I used to stay at SSR when my dad was DVC but haven't stayed there in 5+ years. I can't wait to be able to stay there again. I just had to share my excitement with people who will understand. My husband doesn't share my enthusiasm or understand why SSR is going to be better than Pop Century in late January (we've actually never stayed at POP Century but I hear all the tour groups and cheerleaders start taking over the value resorts in late Jan.)

We just got back from an amazing stay there at the beginning of the month. My husband said it is his favorite DVC right behind the Grand Floridian Villas. He's stayed at the Boardwalk, VGF, BC and at SSR. We were in building 85 and it was close to everything. It is such a nice resort. Hope you have an awesome time.

We stayed at pop this past January and the tour groups were horrible. They were out at midnight chanting and singing outside our room. Security did nothing to stop it. They were very rude and would cut in front of you on lines for food and would walk side by side blocking entire walkways. On reason for joining DVC is to never have to stay in a value resort again!!

You'll love SSR - we stayed there for the first time last year. Loved it. With everything new happening at Disney Springs it is an ideal location.

I love all the DVC resorts. SSR has some great pools and you can't beat the location to Disney Springs. Have a great time!

5+ years since being at SSR but we've been to Disney since then 2 years ago we stayed at Grand Floridian Villas (it was the last year my dad had DVC points and allowed my husband and I to use them) and earlier this month my mom and I stayed at CBR, which I thought was a nice resort.

For DVC I've stayed at Grand Floridian, Wilderness, AKL, Contemporary, BW, and SSR. My favorite is actually Contemporary cause I loved being able to walk from MK back to the resort. However, there is no way I can convince my husband to spend the money on Contemporary. It was hard enough to convince him to move to SSR even though we are getting a great deal on SSR.

I do really like SSR though.

I just firmed up SSR for the first week of December. A rental too. $200 cheaper for a two bedroom compared to my art of Animation/ 1 bedroom OKW split stay. Really excited. Try their lobster roll at Artist Pallette. Amazing. Turf club is good too.

I figured if I waited to closer to the trip that I probably could have gotten a better deal but I didn't want to risk not getting a Studio or the person running out of enough of the cheap points or rushing to get the reservation done. I was happy with the price and it came out to be about 142 a night for the Studio. I think that is a great price!

It is a great price! We had booked a last minute trip using AP rates at Art of Animation and OKW. I was happy with the rate and liked I could cancel up to five days in advance. I checked David's web site and saw an already booked reservation for our exact days at SSR. I was turned off by the high rates for cancellation insurance. Anyway, I waited it out and the reservation was still there at the last day I could cancel my Disney reservation. Booked it and now I'm staying in a huge unit for less than my original booking. Very pleased. SSR was the first DVC we ever stayed at. It is beautiful. Be sure to take advantage of community hall if you have kids--that is the best part of every trip for my children. Walking the resort is also a joy and they have the best gym on property. Can you tell I'm excited?

We've always stayed grandstand. I like the proximity to the carriage house. This time we requested paddock because I'd like to try the new pool.

I love Paddock because of the pool and slide.

We generally rent a car, so bus pickups don't make any difference to us.

Our next stay is at SSR because my cousin decided not to come pretty late in the game, so we did not need a 2 bedroom at VLW and we felt lucky to get a 1 bedroom at SSR for those December days. We prefer Congress Hall, but any section will be fine, we will have a car.
