An online friend just gave me a trip report from All Star Sports. He said the room was damp and musty and everything got damp. He had to leave the comforter on or the sheets would be wet and had to leave clothes in the suitcase and keep it closed or they would get wet.

This sounds weird. I know it's humid in Florida but I've never had that problem at Disney. We are staying at Pop in August. I'm assuming the AC will take care of the humidity. Maybe the cool weather meant no AC and nothing to fight the humidity? :confused3 This was during marathon week I guess.

I have never had a musty smell at all stars and it was very humid while we were there. I have stayed at other florida motel like resorts where you enter the room from the outside and the smell could have knocked you over.

I stayed at AsSp in December in a ground floor room in the touchdown building. I never had any problem with musty smells or dampness.

Good to know. He must have had a real problem with something in the room air handling units or something. He should have complained and they may have been able to fix it.

i stayed in the touchdown building in december on the the top floor last room and had no problems at all - there was no dampness or no musty smells

We stayed in the Surf's Up building at All Star Sports in August last year and we had no musty, damp smells or problems at all :yay: I have an extremely sensitive nose and would have noticed even the slightest mustiness :lmao:

I've stayed at the All Stars a few times and never once had any issues with dampness. We have been there in the summer when it's super hot and humid.

We were also in WDW during marathon weekend but we were staying at POR, we did notice that our windows were completely covered in condensation so much so that we couldn't see out them at all. (good think we didn't pay for the upgraded view) although the room itself wasn't really damp or musty just the windows were dripping in condensation and it looked like most of the windows were the same throughout the resort, but obviously we didn't see all of them. So maybe it was just a more severe case of this issue that the other poster experienced especially if they were keeping their room very warm while it was so cold outside.

Leaky roof, maybe??????

He should have called the front desk. All Stars are extremely accommodating. They would have done something for him.

We have stayed in many of Disney's resorts.

The only time we encountered an extremely damp room like the one the OP mentioned was in July 2007 when we stayed at the Dolphin (15th floor). Our room was so damp that nothing EVER DRIED.

Once our bathing suits, towels, etc. got wet...THEY STAYED WET. We turned up the a.c. in hopes that would help...all that did was create COLDER wet items. :sad2:

As soon as I realized what was going on, I recalled reading threads on the DIS about the Dolphin having damp rooms. We decided we'll stick with our DVC and won't be back to the Swan OR Dolphin.
