I'm toying with the idea of traveling to Texas to see the Super Bowl with my brother and his son who live within 3 hours of Arlington.

I have no experience buying expensive sports tickets like this .... any suggestion out there?

Good luck - I would only use reputable selllers for this event, lots of fake tickets get produced.

The SB has become out of reach for most people. I just did a quick search on stubhub & lowest priced ticket is $1970 INSANE!!!

added: If my team ever got to the SB, I would be thrilled just to be at the site of the game. Would find a local establishment & enjoy it from there.

You pay a lot of money. You travel a long time and park a mile or so from the stadium. Then, you walk to your upper deck seats, where the players really do look like ants. Then, you watch the game on Jerry's big screen TV and pay 15 bucks for a beer and 10 bucks for a popcorn with a souvenir cup.

If you really have to be there, you will be paying a ton of money.

Here's a shot of what it looks like from the upper decks:

You also have to get there hours before the game and wade through security lines that make the airport look like a picnic.

Can you even buy tickets yet? I know they are issuing quantities but until they know the teams I don't think they print actual tickets. My DHs work already knows how many tickets they will be receiving but they don't know section or anything like that.

Are you going to cheer the Patriots on for me?? LOL
wait I guess I am getting ahead of myself aren't I? :)

I don't know anything about this, but I would be sure to buy from a reputable seller. there are lots of scammers out there.
have fun!

Having worked superbowl last year, i saw get there REALLY early, security is a nightmare, its just lines and lines to get in.

Shhhh! lets just see what happens in Chicago!

You know it .... for me to go to a Pats game I drive 12 hours, spend 3 nights in hotels, watch a Friday night High School game in Maine, watch a college game on Saturday (BC), and pay $300 for my ticket, eat for 3 days, drinks, some Pats clothes etc.

One Game .... already runs me almost $1000 ... I figure the Super Bowl may be worth it!

Being scammed is a real concern, plus getting seats together are another. The $2000 a person is hard to swallow, but for a High School football Coach in Nova Scotia .... its a dream!

Thanks for all for the help!
Ted
