What are you making, buying or eating for the Super Bowl? Looking for some inspiration.

Buffalo wings are always a staple w/celery and bleu cheese of course.
don't know what else yet.

I've been married almost 35 years and just discovered my DW has never had wings.......ever. I guess there are some amazing sauces out there, but the lack of meat on them always made them seem like a waste of time to me. Probably why wings never came up as a topic of discussion. Someone here (who is from the south) is planning on deep fried chicken feet for her party.

Italian beefs, pizza, wings, nachos, snacks and dips, peanut m&ms. All carry-out or pre-prepped.

My rule is that I don't cook, clean, replenish, entertain, or make small talk during the game. If you are looking to hang out and expect me to be the hostess, or are one of those "I have no idea whos playing, i just watch for the commercials" or "I want the Patriots to win because Tom Brady is soooo cute" people, just don't come. Shut up and watch the game or go somewhere else!

Super Bowl Sunday is a serious event in our house!

We're still trying to narrow the list down! Options currently on the table:

Crockpot BBQ wings
Buffalo chicken biscuits
Empanadas
Beef enchilada dip
Texas toast mini pizzas
Bacon wrapped potatoes
Bacon/cheddar/broccoli dip
Wonton taco cups
Pulled pork (for sandwiches and nachos)
Zucchini fries with marinara
Baked homemade taquitos
White pizza dip

We also always have raw veggies with ranch. I also really want to make jalapeño poppers and spinach bites but I would be the only one eating them.

Years ago I made the best wings anyone ever had. I should try to dig up the recipe... Anyway, I dipped them in melted butter then rolled them in ground-up pecans. They were the hit of the party!

This year I won't be doing anything for the Super Bowl. For one thing, I only barely care about the game (although I'm rooting for the Falcons in an I-might-check-the-score-every-hour kind of way). For another, I live in The Land Where No One Cares About Football (subtitled: Is It Deer Season Yet?), so there are no Super Bowl parties to attend and no one to come to mine if I had one. Mrs. Homie wouldn't watch the Super Bowl if it were in our back yard and the beer was free.

We have a cool wing place near us, with dozens of wing flavor choices. My dh and ds are obsessed with wings. Ds just ordered guava bbq wings at a Mexican place we went to last week, gotta say those were YUM!!

Anyway, I think we're skipping the party this year, but usually we have wings, chips and ranch dip, sugar weenies (mini hot dogs wrapped in bacon and dredged in brown sugar), veggie platter, chips, salsa and guac. Depending on the crowd we might also have filled breads like pepperoni and cheese, etc.

Go PATS!!!

Our Super Bowl menu this year:

sandwich platter- turkey, ham and cheese on sub rolls
Lil' Smokies in a brown sugar and honey sauce in the crockpot
potato salad
mac 'n cheese
chips and French onion dip
pepperoni, cheese and crackers
veggie tray
cupcakes with red and blue sprinkles and Patriots rings and footballs as toppers
ice cream bar- vanilla and three-flavored (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) ice cream with various red, white and blue toppings

In case you haven't guessed, everything will be served in New England Patriots-themed cups, plates, bowls, etc.! GO PATS!!!!!!

Well she should give them a try! They are snack food.
Like eating blue claw crabs...lots of work but oh so good.

No feet for me, thanks!

Never had blue claw crabs either, however we had had Dungeness Crab for dinner Sunday. 1 crab each, 1 nut cracker each, took an hour to eat dinner.

I believe this year the menu is:

hot wings (just one preparation rather than the 4 different kinds we used to have)
chips and salsa
chips and dip
cheese and crackers
fruit and veggie trays
smoked gouda and choriza stuffed jalapenos
meatballs

I know there are a few other things but those are the main dishes.

Friends are bringing a cheese dip of some kind as well as mozzarella sticks and pigs in a blanket. For the main meal I'm doing meatballs and sausage with rolls and cheese. One friend is doing low carb so I wanted an option that didn't need bread (she'll parmigiana her meat without the roll).
