DH And I are going for a quick two night trip two full days but that’s it I just realized I have two reservations one for royal Pacific in a standard room with a great rate and another reservation for Portofino bay club level. That rate isn’t too shabby either but definitely more. What would you do and

Are you going to use the Club benefits?

we might but leave super early on departure day. Plus I have a 2021 Mardi Gras lanyard with credits left im hoping to use (anyone hear anything definite if they will let us since no lanyards this year?) Plus we fo want to go to The Palm during happy hour to get the app specials. Ok. Maybe RP is the best bet…

Erica, go for RP.

Not talking monetary value here, but sounds as if you won`t get the full Club experience from PB.....and you can`t miss The Palm of course!!

Hope you have a lovely trip there......

For only two days, I would go with RP. We usually try to take an average of what the cost over the room rate is for the CL and try to determine if we would really spend that much on food & drink out of pocket. I love the convenience of CL, but sometimes it's hard to justify the cost.

For me, Club access is not about covering the additional expenses through breakfast/dinner, snacks or drinks. Yes, eating breakfast and/or dinner there can help defray some of the costs and that is great, but it isn't my primary reason for getting Club access. To me, being able to get up without waking the kids and having a little quiet time in the morning to read the latest news, catch up on some work emails, plan out the day, etc. That is a a true benefit. Being able to come back after lunch and let my daughter work on her class work without distractions (remote student at Oregon State) while I sit in the quiet lounge and maybe read a bit or again get some extra work in. That is a true benefit.

If we are traveling with other family and/or friends, it is a great place to get together to talk about the upcoming day or reminisce about the day we just had. :) The times its just my spouse and I visiting, I'll not usually splurge for Club access as I don't need it as much. But the larger the group I'm with, the more I really like having Club access. 👍
