Hi everyone, we are trying to do a trip down on the cheap. We are looking to possibly stay the at Super 8 Anaheim/Disneyland? Has anyone stayed there?

Google Maps would have me think that I can walk right up to the main gate in 15 minutes or so. Which is fine, it's about the same as if I stayed at the so-called friendly neighbor Motel 6 right?

*but* Reviews online seem to talk a lot about the Tram and a 10 minute walk to the TRAM. Not sure we need to do that? Or maybe it's better? Anyone have any info? ( and other tips for this hotel? )

Thanks!

It should be about a 15 minute walk on Ball and Harbor to the main entrance. An alternate way is to walk to the Mickey and Friends garage where one then takes the tram to near the main esplanade.

The one near Disney Way.... but I think I'm already seeing the reviews probably referred to the one on Ball Rd and then maybe it IS easier to walk to the garage?

If you are staying at the one near Disney Way, then it's a pretty easy walk, and yes, the one by Ball would be easier to walk to the garage, though it's just about a 1/4 of a mile from the garage to the parks, so if you've walked that far you may as well walk to the parks. (just my opinion, though :) )

I recommend Super 8 on Katella personally. It's about 15-20 minute walk to esplanade and was more recently refurbished.

It was our go to budget for over 2 years.

Thanks everyone. that pretty much answers my question. I honestly love you all. Answers within a short time from folks who've been there and are as passionate as we are :)

Thanks again.

P.S. We're going to that one because I have access to a super deal with it as long as I don't mind a non-refundable reservation. That's why I wanted to be sure to have all my bases covered on information about it.

P.P.S. Any more tips about the place would be welcome.

One thing I've learned (mostly from planning and visits to Disney) is that people's opinions on walking vary widely.

Some people think walking a half a mile is non-starter. To me, that's just getting warmed up - especially based on what you'll be doing the rest of the day...
