Ok going to WDW in Nov. for Mickey's Xmas party and usually fly from Buffalo but also know out of Buffalo in November could be snow bound... looking at Sunwing and have never flown with them before they seem to be cheapest for the 2 of us round trip is 900 where West Jet is 1300 and AC is 1200 has anyone had experience with Sunwing good or bad I need to know....

Have flown with Sunwing many times, the only thing to mention is the tightness of the seating.. not bad on a 2.5 hour flight, but wouldn't want to go much longer.

They are a good budget friendly airline, meals, snacks & drinks included - checked bag free. Clean & run on time. No complaints here.

We flew SunWing about 4 years ago from Toronto to Orlando. I can't really remember much about them so that must be good. I tend to only remember bad experiences. All I remember is that the plane was clean and flights were on time.

I've had a handful of good experiences with Sunwing, and one awful one. I'd fly with them again during the winter, but never again in summer. In the summer they only have a fleet of 5 planes!(compared to their usual 200 planes) So if there can be horrible delays in summer...such as last August when our flight from Toronto to Orlando was delayed 11 hours (their customer service around that situation was atrocious). You should be fine in November though.

FWIW we flew out of Buffalo in November last year and the weather was great, no problems. Now March..that was a different story.

We flew with them in February from Halifax to Orlando. Nothing remarkable except there was a bit of a cattle call for boarding. One checked bag free each and they weigh and tag each bag, including your one carry-on bag so be aware of that before you show up at the airport.

Flew on Sunwing out of Montreal this past March. The planes didn't pre-clear in Montreal so we had to clear U.S. customs is Florida. Loooonnnnggggg sllloooowwww lines. Not sure if they pre-clear elsewhere though.

Also, carry-on bag size was smaller than for other airlines.

They clear US customs here in Toronto, as do all flights to the US from Pearson..

Never flown with Sunwing but if you do end up choosing them and not yet bought your park tickets they do have a pretty good deal on them and its in CAD so no exchange rate, no forex charge on the credit card if your card has one. I would have bought through them but they only sell it to you if you have a flight or hotel booked with them. Something to keep in mind if you go with them.

Sunwing seats are really tight. Other than that the flight, service etc was fine.

Even the "elite plus premium" seats were tight but not like the economy ones. Definitely worth the extra money in this case.

Agreed. We flew them once, and though the service and whatnot was fine, it was mighty uncomfortable for my 6' 4", 290 lb DH. Even I felt scrunched .

We flew them in January, and would fly with them again. We were slightly delayed coming home, but that was because of snow in Toronto and a back up in the deicing line. You get a free meal both ways which was nice, and kids get a little backpack of activities. My only complaint is carryon rules because we do carryon only, and they allow less than other airlines. We are going in Nov and hoping for an AC/Westjet sale before then. Otherwise, we may end up on Sunwing too.

Don't hold out for Air Canada thinking you are going to get the usual AC comfort, service and entertainment. All Air Canada flights to Orlando have been changed to Air Canada's newish leisure airline - Air Canada Rouge. For these planes, AC installed extra rows of seats so the leg room is actually the same as Sunwing. If you are uncomfortable in a sunwing seat, you will be uncomfortable in an AC Rouge seat.

AC Rouge has no leg room, no entertainment (limited streaming of 10+ year old movies to iPad - if you download the app at home) and no power at the seats (make sure you charge your device fully). None of that would matter if AC had actually lowered the prices to offer true low cost airline pricing (they are charging same mainline prices as before).

We flew AC Rouge - MCO/YYZ in Dec... paid for premium economy seats. Extra space, comfortable legroom. . 6 seats available per flight - row 4 both sides of aisle. Very comfortable..
Have upgraded to the same seats for our August trip. Every little bit helps!

As far as cost.. Our August flight down to MCO is $204CDN each...
Our flight back $$260CDN per person (Labour Day weekend) all taxes & s/c included.

The upgrade to row 4 was $30 each per flight on the base Tango fare... still way below the cost of the first class or even economy flex or latitude fares. And more then $125 a person cheaper then Westjet on the same days.

The free meal seems to have changed since your flight back in January. We are flying Sunwing this Sunday and I got an email from sales support yesterday letting us know they no longer serve meals on flights to the U.S or the Bahamas.

Just thought I'd throw my experiences out there even though you have already booked. I've flown a couple of times with Sunwing when I got some really good deals. A lot of the time they have a B1G1 free seat sale which is nice. The hot breakfasts on early morning flights were really nice too so its a shame they have taken those away on some flights. One of my main issues with Sunwing is they don't offer a lot of flight selections. They only fly out like two days a week so it can be hard to get a flight for specific dates if they don't happen to fall on those two days. That's unfortunately why I haven't flown with them in a couple of years.

I would not at all be concerned about BUF weather in November. Sure a snow storm is possible but it's less likely than say in Dec-Mar. Also, BUF handles the snow much better than YYZ.
