Is it true the sunwheel has "cars" that dont sway or move up and down??? IF so is it as simple as just asking before you get on or do you have to wait in a seperate line??? Also how many are there?? How long of a wait would it be for one?? Thanks for any info!!

Yes, they have stationary cars. I believe there are two different lines, one for each type of car.

There has never been much of a line during any of our trips. Five minutes max.

When I was there last June, the Sunwheel, now Mickey's Fun Wheel had both moving cars and stationary cars. There were separate lines for each and virtually no line for the stationary ones. We did that one as my son did not like the moving cars. They did look like they might be fun though! Maybe I wil try them this June.

interesting, i didn't know that. I'll have to try one of the stationary ones once the Mickey wheel opens up.

I would try both, if you never have been on what was formerly known as the "Sun Wheel", but has been renamed, "Mickey's Fun Wheel". The swinging gondolas are fun for a thrill, and the stationary gondolas are a more tranquil, and peace ride.

We always ride the stationary ones--I tried the moving ones once and was so green it was not a good thing... so I always take the little ones and we can usually ride it twice in the same amount of time that the rest of the group waits to ride it once in the swinging cars. The non-swinging cars go higher than the others--as they don't fall to the bottom of a loop--so the views are fabulous--but it can be a tad windy up there :)

As long as it hasn't changed--looking at the ride - the entrance for the non-swinging ones is on the left (there are 2 lines on the right for the swinging cars)--where most people exit the ride--go all the way around and wait along the back wall. Enjoy it!

Disabled guests must use either line. I remember that wheelchairs were allowed on the stationary gondolas. ECVs can drive through and park on the other side of the gondola.

Wheel of death, lol, I loved the ride and cannot wait for it to reopen.

They have 2 signs.

One sign says: "Stationary"

The other sign says: "Swinging Gondolas of Death"

:lmao:

I too think this is the case, but I am ready to try them again ... I just want someone to go with me and there's no way DH is getting near that wheel, even if they put Mickey's face on it ...

If you want I will go with you and hold your hand though I rather hold a dude's hand, lol.

I will not take my mom on that as she would freak me out. I was on the Vincent Thomas bridge and she started yammering aobut the itty bitty boats down there. I got off that bridge with my hands gripping the wheel and you should have seen the money in my hand for the toll bridge. If you ride do not take someone like my mom.

Sorry, the only dude I have is already mine :) and thanks for the offer ... you never know ;)
