We think we might rent a 3 bedroom villa at Sunterra Cypress Pointe in February. How do you like this property? The floor plan looked very spacious, which is good for us. Is there a section that is more preferred? What is the pool slide like? Any other information would be so helpful. Thanks:jester:

Hi dreamer! If you take a look at the same question posted by PrincessKay you'll get a little information too regarding Cypress Pointe! As I posted to Princess my cousins' are owners at Cypress Pointe and we've stayed there with them for the past 7 years and love it! It is a well kept resort with 3 pools and 3 hot tubs.

Regarding your questions: We like the Grande Villas which is the newer part of the resort but they've just finshed upgrading the phase 1 which will be really nice too!
Space.....tons!;) There is plenty of room and a lovely kitchen too!
The pool slide is nothing spectacular...just a slide, although we didn't use it. The main pool area with the "spewing" volcano is really nice to swim in as is the other pools of which one is in the shape of a turtle! Hope this answers some of your questions and if not I'd be more than happy for you to PM or e-mail me if you have any other questions. Hope you have a great time!:D

Thank you Sammi for you great reply. I was wonering one thing, I've read that the management company is being sued for not maintaining to the timeshare owners standards. Is there any worry that this property is going to be out of business soon? I've read the other thread which was of great info, now I'm just concerned about stability...Thanks:jester:

You're very welcome dreamer.:) The URL that I posted below will take you to Sunterra's site and you can do a "virtual" tour of the resort, including the pools and villas.

Yes I know there has been a bit of trouble with Cypress Pointe but I really feel it won't have anything to do with your vacation as it seems to be coming along well. I will e-mail my cousin in the UK and see if they've heard anything as my cousin is a retired policeman and keeps up with everything going on regarding his ownership etc. If I find any more information for you I'll be sure and get in touch with you.

It is a really lovely resort and very close to Disney!:sunny:

We stayed at Cypress Pointes last summer and it was okay but we didn't find it up to
Gold Crown status which RCI has it listed as. There was lots of room but I did have
problems with some things. It wasn't as clean as it could have been, a lamp was broken
in our room and the numbers outside in the hall were broken. I don't remember
everything but it seemed run down. Maybe we were in a section that was due to be
renovated.

desianne, I'm sorry to hear that your stay wasn't up to par. Maybe you were in phase one and that has undergone extensive renovations. Our stay was last Nov and into Dec for 2 weeks and anytime we had a problem all we did was call down to housekeeping etc. and they got to it right away. I know my DC in the UK had said that Cypress Pointe had lost their Gold Crown status but has since had it given back to them so maybe everything is much better now.Personally I like the resort!:)
Oh yes by the way....hello to a fellow Canadian!

Hi Sammi,
One thing I must say, is I liked how close it was to Downtown Disney. It was great being
there is a few minutes. We have a time share at Orange Lake but we weren't planning
on going to Disney that year so we had spacebanked it and then had to stay somewhere
else so I'm probably alittle prejudice of any other resort. I missed my own resort!
