Sunshine Magic Vacation Homes in Windsor Hills UPDATE, P.3

We arrived today very excited to get to stay in a pool house at Windsor Hills. When we landed, we called the mgmt co, Sunshine Magic Vacation Homes, to get the code for the door lock. They ARE GONE!!! The phone is "temporarily disconnected" on both the local number and the 1-800 number. We can't find ANYONE! And, I can't get ahold of the owner, either (I think he is in the UK, so maybe he is just missing our emails b/c of the time difference?)
Does anyone have the scoop on this company? What is going on? Is it b/c it is Sunday? Shouldn't the co be open to tell us the door code??? What is the deal?
Any advice appreciated.

We are staying in a so-so hotel tonight waiting to get this fixed tomorrow!!! ARGGGHHHH!!!

We have not heard from the original poster just wondering how things turned out for her and her family? Has any one any news?

She might be all set and has to make up for lost time in the parks?

She contacted Steve to say that she had managed to get the code from the owner and had gained access and all seemed fine - good end to the story, thankfully!

Owners are not allowed to promote their details or websites on here and I think the rules do not allow p.m.'s either. If you are interested, I think most owners do have their website links in their profiles but they canot overtly post them or send them in p.m.'s or emails.

Hi, all. Wow, 3 pages!!! Well, I'm so glad to hear from Jane and Gwen and the other wonderful owners at WH.
This is my first day to check in b/c we have no internet access at the house b/c the phone has been cut off!!! There is, of course, access at the beautiful WH clubhouse, but getting up here with a computer w/o the kids is logistically challenging to say the least.
Anyway, we are in the house. There are some problems (trashed "game room" and, of course, the phone/internet issue and a few other maintenance issues that go along with a bad mgmt co.)
I have been in contact with the owner (I made the initial contact through him on VRBO, not through the mgmt co). I will refrain from talking about my communications with him until the whole mess is resolved.
We did spend one night in a hotel and we are seeking part of our rental back for that night. The mgmt co phone is still disconnected. I had a bad feeling about this all along and I should have gone with my instinct.
Even after all of this, I would still book at WH again, definitely. The property is well-maintained and soooooo close to WDW. We feel sorry for the poor souls standing at the bus stops waiting to go back to their tiny hotel rooms each night as we zoom by in our car (parking at the parks is ridiculously easy -- I've always been scared of it!!)
Next time, I will check things out better. I have had generous offers of homes and many offers to help. I really appreciate the many owners willing to step up to make things right!! Next time, I'll check out the mgmt co directly through the Dis before booking.

Barb, glad to hear you finally made it but sorry about the home. This must be very discouraging to the owner also since these homes are basically new. We've been to WH twice before and love the resort also. Hope your vacation apart from the home is great. :)

This is the same managment company that did not pay the light bill for the town house we were in in may along with at least 5 other of there properities according to the electric company. I tried to ask the people here if they would want to be told if it was there home and got little response. I am sorry some one elses trip started off badly.
 
I'm glad to report that the owner stepped in and made things right. He basically forced the management company to give us a refund of 2 nights charges.
Lesson learned, but all together we really enjoyed having a house all to ourselves (especially with a pool!). We liked the Windsor Hills resort and would definitely recommend it !

We've always rented through a management company and have nothing but great experiences. How did the owner force the managment company to refund 2 nights and have you received payment?
