Does anyone have an opinion on the Western Schooner sunset cruise in Key West???

Thanks
Kathy

My then-fiance and I did a sunset dinner cruise in Key West about 3 years ago. It was fun and we enjoyed it. A few interesting tidbits about our particular sunset cruise:

- we saw Portugese Man-of-Wars all over the place... they look like soap bubbles on top of the water!
- the night we did the sunset dinner cruise, there was an all-gay cruise ship (NCL I think) that had docked so we were almost the only straight couple on this particular one. I still laugh when I think of my guy getting checked out in such an obvious manner.
- my parents took my then-two year old daughter into Old Key West while we cruised. There was a drag parade going on on the time. lol
- food was good but there weren't any tables to sit at... had to balance your food in your lap.

Hope you enjoy! :wave2:

meandmad ????
did you go to Key West in October??? Right before Halloween I think..
There is a HUGE Week Long ( i believe) "gay" celebration
My brother and his girlfriend lived in Key West for a while and when they moved they go back every October they can for this...

Key West sunsets are awesome from whereever you watch it - Hi this is Shirley and my hubby Norm and I are from there so we went to bed with the sunsets and got up with the sunrises - Unfortunalty there is a lot you will see down In Key West and October is the month for Fantasy Fest - I haven't gone for awhile, but Key West is a place for adults to have fun -
anyhow I have a bunch of information on Key West and anyone is welcomed to it by dropping me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com.
Take care and stay warm
Always
Shirley

pfishgirl -- we've only been in January. My parents like to rent a house down there for a couple of months to escape these "harsh Georgia winters" (hee hee). I've heard of that October party -- what a hoot it must be. I think they had this particular parade in January just for this particular cruise.

Off the topic, the last house my parents rented in Marathon was wonderful. It is on a sea wall (which means no gradual entrance into the water -- immediate 10 feet down). At night we'd put out spotlights... one night we stopped counting after shark #25!!!

meandmad-- My Brother and His Girlfriend LOVE it for their parties/parades.
They both use to work for Looker Diving Center and another one I forget. My brother was a Captain and a Scuba Diving Instructor. They moved last year to Big Bear Lake CA..

I haven't been to KeyWest since my son was maybe 4 he is 14 now. When we go on our cruise in Jan 06, I am happily awaiting a return trip Yet sad at the same time because my brother will no longer be there..

pfishgirl, we're going on the Jan 15, 06 / 4 day cruise -- which one are you on?
