Hey DISers! :wave2:

We're going to the beach in 2 days, and I was wondering if you could recommend and sunscreen that you like. I've tried various ones, but nothing really has stuck out at me.

TIA! :thumbsup2

We like Banana Boat. Coppertone also has a pump bottle that my kids like. Both work well, just keep reapplying when you are out in the sun and surf.

Bullfrog is awesome! I also like Nuetrogena Ultra sheer dry touch with helioplex for my face. It is not greasy at all. For kids I like Coppertone continuous spray sunblock. It doesn't need to be rubbed in. Great for the beach!

Bullfrog you can buy at Target...

... I personally like how the Target-brand continuous spray sport sunscreen smells. To me, sunscreen is sunscreen. At least this stuff smells good and is cheap. EVERYONE used it at WDW when I was there in July. One word of advice. Spray with caution. It travels and doesn't taste too good on your refillable mug straw. ;)

DH likes Bullfrog. The kids and I like Coppertone Water Babies.

The best sunscreens are the ones that have either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as active ingredients.

Banana Boat and Bullfrog are both great. I bought Cooper Tone spray-n sunblock, but don't love it. It feels to sheer of a coverage. I always buy sweat and water proof for ultra protection. :sunny:

Coppertone Spectra 3. Awesome stuff. We apply it in the morning at Disney and it lasts all day. In the summer! And yes, it has zinc oxide. Of course, it can be a bit much if you want a light tan. Because we didn't get anything!

(I just checked the link to coppertone. If you find the spectra 3, it's noted as recommended by some skin cancer institute. Good stuff.)

be a man, women and just take the rays as they are :sunny:

Another 'ribbit' for Bullfrog. :rotfl:

We use the SPF 36, Spray QuikGel. We use this almost exclusively. Goes on easy, no rubbing neccessary, no sunburns. DS (age 9) also reapplies at summer camp, since he can do it himself. We use a Bullfrog stick for faces, ears, and back of neck since his new haircut. It's quite possibly the MOST waterproof sunscreen I've ever seen.

I also use Blue Lizard which was recommended by my dermatologist. It's VERY thick, takes a while to rub in, but works like a champ. It is a little sticky until it all soaks in.

My kids don't like the spray kind. They say it is very cold when it goes on. And like someone else said it is hard keep it from over spray. Plus I don't want to use it on there face for that reason. My son hates it when I get any kind near his lips because he gets it in his mouth. We use kids Coppertone 30 or 45. I tried Tropicana but they both broke out in rash.

Both of these sunscreens will stay put if you apply them BEFORE you hit the beach ( ie before you start sweating or go in the water). The stick absolutely will not run into your eyes. These sunscreens contain titanium dioxide, which gives max protection. Sunscreens with Parsol(avobenzone) also give great protection, but they irritate my skin and my kids as well.

Read the ingredient list. The sunscreen should contain either titanium dioxide or Parsol. I get the No-Ad stick from WalMart.

I swear by No-Ad. It is so much cheaper and works just fine. DD is a redhead and it works for her.
