We live in Southern California and typically use Bullfrog spf30. I know its different in high humidity areas. Are there sunscreens that work better when you are 'damp' all day? We are fair skinned people so sunscreen is especially important to us. I would appreciate any recommendations of different kinds of sunscreen that worked for you in Florida.

Thanks

We are also die hard Bullfrog users. We use the SPF 36 spray gel. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I've used it several times in FL at different times of year, and it's still my favorite. Besides, you know you won't have any skin reactions to something 'new' if you stick with the tried and true, right?

We tend to use P20, it's a liquid that you apply once and we have never been burnt (except the day we forgot to apply it!). I'm not sure if it's available in the US but it's def one to look out for :cool1:

We like Coppertone continuous spray. Sam's has it in packs of 2 for about $12. The downside is that those cans don't hold very much product so it runs out fast. DH had been pestering me that he wanted to try Blue Lizard, so I bought some. He wore it once and complained that it ran in his eyes so I don't think he has worn it since. That was a waste of $14! I am going to make him wear it on his arms and legs just to use it up.

I also like the Coppertone Oil Free. I just bought some of that new Aveeno but I haven't tried it yet. We're leaving in 20 days so all of our sunscreen will get a huge workout! :sunny:

Take back the Aveeno. We borrowed our friends Aveeno spf 45 - my son got VERY burned and he was only out for about an hour and a half. I slathered it on him prior to going out. He was just outside playing at the park, not swimming or anything. Im surpised, because I normally love Aveeno products, but the sunscreen DID NOT work.

I want to second the recommendation for any of the new continuous spray mists. I am very fair skinned and live in Fl so sunscreen is super important to me. There is nothing worse to me than slathering on white cakey sunblock on a hot day when you are sweating already. Those continuous sprays are just pure genius....no white stuff, no greasiness, nothing....plus, you can get those hard to reach places no problem.

Wow! As soon as I read your post I started to look for my receipt. I found it almost immediately, which I think is an omen to return that sunscreen. Considering that it hasn't been opened, I might as well take it back and buy some more spray that I KNOW works! We are all very fair - blond, blue eyes, and we burn in a matter of minutes. No need to fool around with sunscreen that might not work! Thanks for the warning!

Coppertone Sport 48. It's "ultrasweat proof." I use a special high SPF face sunscreen -- can't remember the brand. If I get the Coppertone in my eyes it burns. The Coppertone does not run, my eyes water if it is windy, including on rides. I forget and rub the tears, getting junk in my eyes.

I am very fair, I acually get an allergic reaction to the sun. Never happened at Disney. (Trips have been in Sept, Oct. and Jan -- I avoid summer months!)

I like the Coppertone Spectra 50 line. Yes it's a lotion. Yes it takes a bit of effort to get it all rubbed in and invisible. But it works great for me!
CVS has a store brand peer of the baby version (pink bottle).

Yes, the coppertone ultra spray mist. It doesn't hold a lot buy you can apply it to yourself in those "hard to reach areas" and it will stay. We go running and biking with it and its awesome!

DH and I both love the Coppertone continuous spray, but Coppertone Sport is also great stuff and, although it's a white lotion, it's easy to blend in to your skin (unlike many other brands of lotions).

I'd recommend sticking with something you've used before. We forgot our sunscreen at home last trip (actually we couldn't find it at the last minute) and we had to buy a "sport" style sunscreen at the POFQ gift shop. I'm fair skinned (blond hair blue eyes) and it worked for a couple of days but then I started to get a rash from the sunscreen. It was pretty horrible, so I stopped using it and it went away. So I'm going to say, stick to something you know works with you and your skin.

I also like the continuous spray. This year I bought the sport version in the blue can, it is good for swimming AND sweating, so hopefully it'll do well in WDW. We used the regular version last year with no problems.

We use Blue Lizard(baby or sensitive) Its spf 30..http://www.crownlaboratories.com/bluelizard/
The whole family uses it. It is great and even my baby (7 months) has never gotten burnt with it. My dd's 3 and 4 were out swimming for about 4-5 hours and i only applied it once and had no problems at all. Its also chemical free and fragrance free, which is great for my girls'..they all have VERY sensitive skin.

We like Banana Boat products, mostly the sport lotion. It is 30 spf, waterproof,non-greasy and sweatproof!!! Works great! And for those of us who do not want to admit to it, it also protects from "premature aging"! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We have been using the Coppertone continuous spray, both the white and blue cans -- they seem the same and both work really well, and we burn really easily. Also, Neutrogena has a similar product, but it is SPF 45, and we like this one even better! All are available at Target and Costco. We also carry one of those little sunscreen sticks to reapply for faces.

Another vote, from a Floridian, for the continuous spray. It works great! We love that stuff.

I got hooked on Ocean Potion a couple of years ago in while on vacation in Hawaii. I'm very fair skinned and I wore it all around the islands and never once burned. It smells great, not the usual sunscreen smell (which I love because it makes me think of summer, but Ocean Potion smells so good!), and absorbs quickly into your skin so you don't feel all greasy.

We use Banana Boat SPF 50 or SPF 70 if you can find it.Our local Albertson's carries both, they are waterproof and sweatproof, its thick, just be sure to rub it in well.
