I am having a celebration next May at the WL. One night I am taking 30 people to dinner at Chef Mickey's, but would like to serve champagne at the Lodge before we eat. Does anyone know if I could use Sunrise Terrace? Do I need to book something or is it generally open if nothing is going on? I am just looking for a place for the group to gather, pour some drinks, and stand around and talk.

I'm not sure if they allow that, but from what I've seen in pics and have heard described, the terrace is a very small space. Only large enough to accomodate intimate gatherings no more than 15 (17 including the officiant and event manager for a wedding). I don't think that 30 people would be comfortable out there. However, the room leading out to the balcony looks as though it could hold that many people. I'm sorry I'm not much help, but I just wanted to give a head's up in case you really had your heart set on an outdoor location, you may want to look at some other spots.

Good information. Fortunately, we are there the week before so we can look things over.

this is where we are having our intimate wedding in may.
i really dont think the space is big enough to hold 30 people but it doesn't hurt to ask. i would contact disney and see what they can do for you.
