Sunrise Safari Day Changes

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that starting in April the Sunrise Safari, exclusive to AKL concierge guests, will be switching schedules. They will be no longer offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but will be offered on Sundays and Thursdays. I believe the Sunset Safari schedule will be unchanged.

A bit of a bummer for those of us, who scheduled our summer trips to include this activity and now won't be staying at AKL on a Sunrise Safari day....but hey! We'll still be at AKL and WDW, so not too big of a deal.


I just wanted to give my fellow DISers, who are planning nuts like myself, information on the change, as I don't see it listed anywhere else, and I heard this directly for AKL IPO yesterday.

I am so glad that our September trip is scheduled for Th - Su. I would have been so disappointed if we had missed this!

When they changed the morning EMH to Sat and the evening to Tues. it really messed up the SS schedule. They had concerns about the animals being out too long. Also the Sat. SS would then leave at 6:30am. We are scheduled for that too early SS in Feb. I hope my girls are up for the early wake up call.

I found this out just yesterday when I called the concierge to set our SS reservation for a Thursday in may. I hope that doesn't hurt plans for too many. For us it was the only reason we went CL or even to the AKL.

Well this is really bad for me. I had planned to spend only one night at Disney (a Friday night) just so that My family could do the Safari. Oh well, maybe another year.

I just noticed that you are a fellow Rochesterian

You must be so ready not only to go to WDW but also to get out of this snow and cold weather!

My family went on the Sunrise Safari in October and absolutely loved it. My husband thought that the breakfast buffet alone was worth the extra cost. We will miss going on it this August, but AKL is amazing and we are looking forward to our stay.

Have a great trip, and if you can, please bring back some of that warmer weather
