already have raybans and vera bradley..would you pick Costa del Mar or Oakley?

I'd pick the ones that look best on me and that have polarized lenses. The brand name isn't important.

I have two pairs that I use, Chanel and Versace! they are great quality plus the lenses have all the protection that is necessary. Good glasses always cost money. My two cents is go with good eye protection, that look good on your face and are well within your budget!

I don't spend a lot myself because I am horribly hard on my eye-wear but DH is a huge fan of Oakley because he can get the ones with interchangeable lenses AND their customer service is excellent.

Oakley gets my vote! I always want a new pair before I need a new pair. You can't wear the things out.

I am not sure I understand...do you own or manage a retail store and you want to have a variety of sunglasses for sale? If that is the case, I would choose from a variety of price points so a high end, mid range, and an economical brand. It sounds like the ones you are deciding on are all mid to high price.

I third Oakley from those two, but I also have to plug Chanel because I got my best pair ever from there. :)

I am a RayBans girl myself. I have five pairs:

one for vision with Rx lenses
one for vision with Rx lenses that are the transitions lenses
one for vision with Rx sunglass lenses
Two that are non Rx (I wear contacts a lot) that are polarized but one is in the shop after 8 years as I dropped them on stone tile and shattered the right lens.

I have had a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses which have been my go-to sunglasses for 4 years. The lenses are fantastic and obviously the frames have held up really well - and I just toss them in my purse, not in case or anything. I've owned a lot of sunglasses and they are by far my favorite brand.

Oakley, as a PP stated they don't seem to wear out. I bought my 1st pair 5 years ago & they still look brand new

Costa Del Mar's! :thumbsup2

I love my Costa Del Mar's. I was so bummed Friday when I dropped them and they cracked. I only get expensive sunglasses like every 10 years or so and I had these only a couple years.

I usually have a hard time finding ones that I like because they have to be dark, polarized and fit snuggly, but not too snug. They also have to fit close to my face. I have Blepharospasm and sunlight really bothers my eye.

Oh I miss my days working at Sunglass Hut. I developed a major sunglass fetish there :rotfl:. I've been out of the loop for close to 15 years now but I am not an Oakley fan. The customer service truly is great, but I saw sooooo many from the "M-frames" and "Jackets" lines come back to us because they broke all the dang time. The metal framed ones seemed to hold up better however. So, for me, pretty much anything else is alright! I have/had Serengeti, Revo, Gargoyles, Suncloud, and RayBan ones (worn with contacts). Would like to get my hands on CostaDel Mars or Maui Jims. My workaday ones now are Rx Anne Klein ones.
