I believe that taking advantage of the lighting at and around sunrise and sunset has been one of the standard principles of photography since color film was invented. The Golden Hours, for sure.

Typically the parks are not open for sunrise, except on the 24 hour days.

True, but you can get some fabulous resort shots. Especially nice since there are usually very few other guests around to get in the way of your shots.

No matter how hard I try, I always wake up early. So I usually get to take a morning walk around our resort while the family sleeps. Those gorgeous blue skies as the sun rises are almost worth the early hour.

If you're visiting in the summer and plan early morning shots, have a plan for dealing with camera fog. It can really take some time to acclimate your camera to the humidity.

I got some cool early morning foggy shots of the castle one morning. (Fortunately from real fog though and not camera fog.)

Any suggestions?

I use Cat Crap (not like your pet produces lol) to keep my ski goggles from fogging, but I'm terrified to try it on my $$$ lenses!

Main Street is my favourite place to be at sundown. There's something just so enchanting about sunset at the MK.
