Sunday vs Monday crowds early August?

Haven't been to Disneyland in a long time and wondering if the crowds are similar for a Sunday or a Monday. Trying to decide which day to go. Sunday's ticket is $10 more than Monday so I'm wondering if Monday is predicted to be less crowded. Thanks!

Sunday evenings can be really good.. usually see a large drop off of crowds earlier and ride times go way down compared to weekdays.
I think the best wait times happen on Sunday evenings.
Also, it doesn't feel like they are fully staffed up on weekdays which leads to less cars/tracks being run at the same time...
So even if there are lower crowds on the weekdays, the wait times can be longer than Sundays.

Also keep in mind that a lot of magic key holders are blocked out on Sundays, so the type of guest visiting is different. I enjoy my days on weekends much more than weekdays because the feel of the crowd is different. Sunday is usually lower lines than Monday too in my experience.

So, if you had to pick... which 2 or 3 days of the week would you go for the best bet with crowds?
Right now I’d choose Fri-Sun. But this could change after summer. Maybe Wed-Thurs? Or Thurs-Sat? It depends on what Disney is offering at the time. Like right now, there is a SolCal weekday ticket offer and I think that’s what’s packing the parks during the week.

Our plan was for mid to late January sometime between the 17th and the 28th. We could skip possibly one day of the week and use it to rest. Would something like Thursday, Friday, Sunday be a good choice? or would it be better to do Thursday, Saturday, Sunday since imagine key holders are blocked out on the weekends? I've also heard Tuesdays can be bad too... does that make Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday not a viable option? We were trying to go for at least one later night that might have fireworks. I know it's a complicated question (almost quite frankly an algorithm!), so I appreciate any advice at all.

Honestly it’s really impossible to gauge what the crowds will be. Especially now with the reservation system. If it looks like it’s going to be empty Disney will release more Magic Key reservations or offer some new popcorn bucket or bring back the Main Street Electrical Parade and BOOM. Crowds.

I never recommend a Monday for any time of year. Outside of that, I would pick the dates that work best for you and try not to worry about crowds. No matter what you choose it will most likely be crowded. Disney wants to pack them in and they will do whatever it takes.

That said, Sundays, especially Sunday evenings, have been consistently nice for us!

We definitely want to go Sunday! Just trying to figure out the other days is a bit difficult. We also really want to go Thursday because it's my partner's 30th birthday and he's been wanting to go to Disneyland for over 5 years. Right now the debate seems to be over going either Friday or Saturday (resting whichever day we don't go). Between Fri/Sat do you have any preference? Is it better to face the locals Friday or the out-of-town travelers on Saturday? Just trying to give them the best experience possible, as we won't be able to return for a while.
