Oh noes, going to be at the land for the MHP on the 12th through the weekend, hate to lose two hours as we are flying back that afternoon. I sure hope this is a typo, all other Sundays leading up to this date open at 8.

I know I was amazed at the 10 am open time then I remembered about the choc walk

This is my first day at the parks and my sister arrives from Vegas so I was hoping for an early morning is we are going to the hockey that might but I guess I'll go back after the hockey

I was just looking on Disneyland.com and everytime I would try to do the daily look at Oct. 14th it would default to Sept. 4th. This includes trying to do the multi-day planner. Oct 13, Sept 4, Oct 15, Oct 16. Weird? Oh well. I will just assume it is going to be 10:00am...

Just tried again, and it was working correct. Grr... Looks like early morning to CA, but not DLR for that day.

That will be our last full day in the parks, and I too was wondering about the 10am start! SO with the Choc walk that morning, will this have a huge impact on crowds for the day?

Thanks!
Brianna

I doubt it. I will be there that day too and mostly am glad that since no one can get in earlier then a 10AM arrival means you ar enot behind thousands of people already in line. :)

:wizard:

We were there last year on the day of the CHOC walk. Entry into the park was a mess that day, but once we got in, it wasn't horrible. If it's like last year, you won't be able to get through the turnstiles until 10 (no rope drop at the top of main street) and the middle of the plaza will be blocked off so you won't be able to get across (from the Harbor side to the DTD side).

That also meant that everyone who is waiting in line congregated on the sides. We thought we were in a line to get in, but everyone kept walking up and getting in front of us. (Because the line snaked and we were in the snakey part). I usually just go with the flow while I am there and try not to let too many things get to me, but that was driving me crazy.

I'm jumping in on this thread hoping to get some advice as well. We'll be there at the same time and are staying at the GCH. The calendar shows DCA as opening at 10, but with Early Entry at 9. I know on a normal day, the best entry for EE is from the Plaza, but are we better off using the GCH entry on the 14th? We will be headed for Carsland, and I know that puts us behind the Plaza entry group, but I'm just wondering what our best plan of attack is. Thanks for the advice!

I do not see how a 10AM opening and 9AM EMH changes things. use the main entrance for DCA on EMH days and the GCH entrance on non-EMH.

The reply from scrapshappen earlier about how bad the Plaza was last year made me wonder....

Ahhhh.....good point. I didn't even think about that! I'm thinking we'll head out of the hotel by about 8:30 or so for a 9 o'clock open?

Since there is early entry into DCA that day, then I'm guessing things will be different this year. Last year, the plaza was blocked off in the middle so the walkers could cross from DL to DCA. They must be planning to move the walkers the other way instead this year.

As I look at my notes from our trip, DL opened at 9 that morning and DCA at 10. I know they didn't offer MM that day because there was a sign up on Saturday when we arrived saying it would be available Monday instead.
