We are checking in to VWL on Oct. 15. We usually check in on a Wednesday or Thursday and so far have been extremely lucky with our rooms being ready. However, I know that Sunday thru Thursday is a popular rental period due to less points per night. How is a check in on Sunday? We should be arriving at 10:30 at MCO. After we rent the car, should we run right to VWL or stop and shop (groceries). How are the chances that our room might be ready? We only requested non-smoking, and I think if that is a popular check in day, they must have many rooms ready, right?

It depends on how many rooms were filled the night before. If there are alot of checkouts on Sunday, those rooms will need to be cleaned.

We checked into OKW around 11:30 am on a Sunday in early August. Our room was ready. In fact, we had a choice of 3 different rooms. Granted, OKW is a much larger resort, with more rooms being available at any one time, but fingers crossed for you.

just hope that you get there before the magic express bus gets there!!! :goodvibes

Yep, we have always found it busy on Sunday's, and I don't ever remember getting our room early on a Sunday, but we usually just check in and leave our things in the rental car and hop the bus to one of the parks. Then we call, and when our room is ready, we head back to the resort and get settledin and go get groceries.

Is there a schedule I can look at? Assuming our plane will hold many people going to Disney, chances are the ME express bus will wait for them, correct? Or do they pick up quite often?

I don't think there is a schedule. They seem to run busses to different resorts as needed. I think it's just a matter of luck. Also, the whole bus isn't necessarily filled with people going to your resort. I've been on busses where we've been let off with only 2 other families. They don't necessarily wait for full busses.

Now, in June, on a Sunday, June 11th, we went to church and stopped at OKW to check in. Our 1 bedroom was ready and this was around 10AM.

No set schedule that I have seen on the ME bus, but it DOES clog the lobby when it arrives!

Keep in mind that VWL uses the same check-in desk that WL uses, so not everyone checking in will be DVC. By the same token, they have more staff there since the desk does service the Lodge and VWL. So they are somewhat prepared for the crowds. Still, it seems that we always have at least a 10-15 minute wait. As I tell DW, it's the shortest line we'll be in all week. ;)

As for the room being ready in the morning, I'd say that there is very little chance of that. In all of our VWL stays, the earliest we've ever gotten into our room was 3:30. But it doesn't hurt to check in and give it a try.

I'm checking into the VWL on 10/4 (Wed)---and early ! My plane lands at 9 am. Guess we'll check-in and then head to the parks first. I was hoping to get in the room a little early, but I am not expecting it, since I know this is a small resort and checkout isn't until 11 am.

We always check in on Sundays and not once was our room ever ready before 3pm.

In June I checked in to the VWL around 7:30 in the morning...much to my shock and amazement, my room was ready :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

(this is not the norm...just a really great bit of pixie dust!)
